The US Special Envoy for Middle East peace has resigned, casting doubt on existing Israeli-Palestinian plans. Jason Green-blatt was a key figure in the Trump administration’s efforts in the region, and it’s unclear if his successor will be able to put his proposals into practice. The Trump administration’s long-delayed peace plan is set for publication after the Israeli elections in September. But previously leaked details appeared to highlight some key decisions – like an expansion of Israel’s territory to include West Bank settlements. The leaks also suggested Palestinians would be forbidden from having an army. Political analyst Nour Oden and Dan Diker, ex-secretary general of World Jewish Congress debated how this could play out.
