Turin Stampede: False alarm makes people panic, run for life, over 1,000 injured

Fears of potential attacks are so high in Europe that a false alarm ended in a stampede in the Italian city of Turin.
Panic gripped a crowd watching a screening of the Champions League final, when a firecracker was mistaken for a gunshot or explosion. Italian media reports over 1,000 people were injured in the resulting stampede, seven severely, including a seven-year-old boy. Witnesses described what happened…
