Sound In Noise – ‘Cowards’

Sound In Noise – ‘Shapes Pt.1’
__

So far 2019 has seen RAM come out of the blocks with some amazing music and adding to that is the return of Sound In Noise. Delivering the first in a series of releases culminating into an album, Sound In Noise presents ‘Shapes Pt.1’.

From the dark, rattling march of ‘Cowards,’ (a track subject to three rewinds from Andy C at XOYO), with its echoes of his remix of Fresh’s ‘The Gatekeeper’, to the disco funk vibes of ‘Deep Inside’ and the dramatic ‘One By One’ featuring Marianna Ray, ‘Shapes Pt.1’ highlights Sound In Noise’s ability to turn his hand to any style in the drum & bass spectrum with spectacular ease.

An appetite wetter for more forthcoming music; be sure to keep your ears open for what else Sound In Noise has in store – ‘Shapes Pt.1’ is just the start.

RAMLive – Mel C

Last month we spoilt you with not one but four RAMLive sessions as we did weekly drops of sets recorded live from fabric. Normal service resumes this month: we’re back live from the Green Room at XOYO, and stepping up is this Monday is the talented Mel C.

As the resident Drum & Bass DJ for Data Transmission and Music Box radio, Mel submitted her mix to us here at the label and it really stood out. Showcasing the more liquid side of the sound, you can bet you’ll be hearing some melodic, soulful vibes during her RAMLive session. Mel C is the second female drum & bass representative we’ve had since launching the project and goes to show that the door at RAMLive really is open to everyone regardless of your gender and sub-genre preference.

Submissions are still being considered so please email your mixes to info@ramrecords.com and remember to make them downloadable and do not expire – we don’t wanna miss out on the next future participant!

RAMLive – Nedd

What is RAMlive?

RAMLive is our brand-new project showcasing some of the amazing talent we have on and around the label. Initially started as a way to give good DJ’s who don’t produce a platform, our aim is to cultivate all talent from a grass roots level and give something back to the Drum & Bass community: doesn’t matter who you are – the door is open to everyone.

Streamed via simulcast on Facebook and YouTube at the start of each month and filmed direct from the Green Room at XOYO, RAMLive will bring you a host of up-and-coming acts – plus some established names – where the focus is purely on the art of DJing. An ethos the team at RAM strongly believe in.

Talent in the studio doesn’t always translate to talent on the decks, and vice versa. With RAMLive our goal is to help DJ’s who don’t produce, and producers who can really throw down on the decks, a chance to break through with some nurturing from the ground up. Hopefully with our help they can go onto more recognition, more bookings and continue to perform and develop after their showcase.

RAMLive kicks off with the super talented Nedd, flexing his skills across four CDJ’s. Nedd was discovered after making a name for himself on Facebook with his ever popular ‘Five Minute Friday’ mix videos. “He’s a bit of a wizard behind the decks and absolutely has it. He’s got the party vibe about him and he plays across the board – liquid, neuro, jump up. You name it, he plays it. You’ll be in for a treat!”

Alongside live DJ sets, RAMLive will also be covering video content such as interviews, producer sessions, live events and loads more.

Do you know a really good DJ who should be getting some much-deserved love? Think you can hold your own behind the decks? Then why not get in touch with the RAM team. Email us a link to your skills with the subject heading ‘RAMLive Submissions’ to info@ramrecords.com

Built for the rave and forthcoming on Ram Records, Andy C’s ‘What Bass’ has been roadtested during his 13 week XOYO residency, and was given its first radio play on his Beats 1 show on Friday night. This dancefloor-ready cut is the first new music from Andy C since 2016’s ‘New Era’, and will precede a new single for Atlantic Records later this year.

With over 40 awards to date, Andy C’s career has been nothing short of a phenomenon. He’s sold-out Alexandra Palace and Brixton Academy with his own solo shows, played headline slots at the world’s greatest festivals including Creamfields, Glastonbury, EDC, and SW4, and released a string of phenomenal crossover anthems like ‘Heartbeat Loud’ and club tracks like ‘New Era’. He’s also the go-to remixer for the likes of Major Lazer, Sigala, London Grammar and beyond, and the d&b figure recently chosen to host the first drum & bass radio show on Apple Music’s Beats 1, broadcast to over 100 countries.

As the owner and figurehead for Ram Records, which celebrates 25 years in 2017, Andy’s nurtured and developed huge headline artists such as Chase & Status, Wilkinson and Sub Focus, turning it into one of the world’s most respected independent operations across recordings and now festivals like EDC Las Vegas, Creamfields, and SW4 where Ram have hosted their own arenas and stages.

Andy’s main signature motif as a DJ is that he’s guaranteed to be packing tracks that no other DJ has. Hunting, digging, searching and signing: he is constantly immersed in new music. Not only does this ensure a wholly unique experience when you see him live, but it also gives Ram Records a front row seat when it comes to spotting new artists… As the likes of Loadstar, Wilkinson, Calyx & TeeBee, Frankee, Delta Heavy, Culture Shock, DC Breaks, Hamilton, Mind Vortex, Chords and many more can happily confirm.

On 31 March, Andy will complete his 13 week residency run at XOYO. The first d&b artist chosen by the renowned London club, tickets for his entire residency sold out far in advance. The Friday night run has allowed Andy to nurture a weekly crowd on a par with his legendary sets at The End, bringing together older heads and d&b’s new converts together under one roof.

Summer 2017 festival dates include Lovebox, Let it Roll festival, Snowbombing, Lost & Found, Wild Life, Parklife, Dour Festival, Nu Forms, Boardmasters, Dreambeach, Innovation in the Sun, Tomorrowland, Reading Festival, Leeds Festival, Bestival, Middlelands and many more to be announced.
