Forget Lyft – this new electric air taxi prototype aims to literally give you a lift. It’s just the drop-off that might worry you.
German startup Volocoptor unveiled the fourth-generation model of its 18-rotor air taxi prototype (octadecacopter?), known as the VoloCity. The aircraft aims to run on nine electric batteries, providing a range of 35 kilometers at a top speed of 110 km/h.
Volocoptor’s CEO Florian Reuter said: ‘We are a little more than two years away from final certification, so we expect towards the end of 2022 we will see the first commercial routes, and hopefully it will be Paris.’
We’ll get the next one, thanks.
