At 70, ‘Third Man’ still thrills fans despite Viennese snub | AFP

From its iconic theme music to the legendary chase scene through post-war Vienna’s sewers, spy classic “The Third Man” still draws legions of fans to the Austrian capital 70 years after its premiere — but has never found a place in locals’ hearts.

Street art takes over the Wien Museum all summer long | AFP

Before its renovation, the 2,000 square metres of the “old” Wien Museum have been converted into an arena for street art and skateboarding. The museum took the opportunity to have its interior designed by Viennese street art artists. In addition to classic graffiti and metre-high murals, there are also photo exhibitions, a do-it-yourself area with workshops and a skate park. The exhibition will last all summer long until the 1st of September and admission is free.

18.10.16, Vienna: Leading electronic duo Camo & Krooked have officially announced their fourth album: ‘Mosaik’, to be released May 2017. First single ‘If I Could’ will be released November 11 through a unique partnership between pioneering drum & bass imprint RAM/BMG and C&Ks new founded imprint ‘Mosaik Musik’
Three years is a long time in any game. In electronic music it’s a lifetime. This is how long it takes to create a truly unique ‘Mosaik’: A musical montage comprising Camo & Krooked’s every influence and ambition, fusing the fractured fallout from their agenda-setting third album ‘Zeitgeist’. A personal drive to strive even further into the electronic music unknown and create an even bigger picture than they’ve ever created before…

Their influence, motifs and techniques still referenced across drum & bass to this day, with ‘Mosaik’, Reinhard Rietsch (Camo) and Markus Wagner (Krooked) wish to change their own personal game entirely. Building on what they’ve established during their 10-year career, yet bucking every trend, technique and common tool of the trade, ‘Mosaik’ is written like, sounds like and will be delivered like no other album.
The product of over two years studio solitude and a growing collection of vintage synths and high-end studio hardware, Reinhard and Markus’s vision has been to create something timeless.
A picture that can be returned to again and again. A picture that will gradually be revealed by Camo & Krooked, RAM and BMG UK as we build up to the long-awaited ‘Mosaik’ release in May 2017.
The first new music to reach all of us will be ‘If I Could’ and ‘Ember’ on November 11. Both tracks are charged with the duo’s crisp, melodic, minimal drum & bass signature while hinting at something new and exciting. ‘If I could’ features brand new vocalist Joe Killington. A UK singer who chanced upon an early demo and won the duo’s ears on the basis of a rough iPhone demo recording.

One take, mission complete: Riding on bass plucks and foley percussive sounds of their own, it’s another future classic from the Viennese duo and is backed by the equally evocative ‘Ember’, a track keen fans will already be familiar with; it’s been a tried and tested intro cut to the duo’s recent headline shows across the globe’s biggest and most respected festivals.

Camo & Krooked – Watch It Burn (feat. Ayah Marar)

Hospital Shop – https://www.hospitalrecords.com/shop/release/camo-krooked/nhs194-cross-the-line
iTunes (Special Edition) – https://itunes.apple.com/nl/album/cross-line-special-edition/id464115820?uo=4&at=11l9mP

Taken from Cross The Line.

The album features collaborations with some of the UKs finest vocalists and producers, including: Bristol based tour de force TC, trance vocalist Shaz Sparks, everyones favourite D+B diva Jenna G, Viper Recs boss Futurebound, soulful singer Ayah Marar and upcoming Mancunian talent Skittles.

Cross The Line is everything you d expect and more from the Viennese pair; a fourteen-track rollercoaster ride of emotions, veering between polished vocal-led beauties to filthy tear-out monsters, which firmly establishes Camo & Krooked outside the D+B sphere, as they delve into dubstep, drumstep, electro-house and everything in between.

Highlights from across the high octane adventure, include opener Get Dirty with its bouncing, lively melody and feel-good vox, previous single and dubstep smash All Fall Down / Breezeblock, and the euphoric feel-good fuzziness of title track Cross The Line. Elsewhere The Lesson adds a grittier, urban edge, Funk You brings in some punchy electro-house to the mix, whilst Afterlife brings the album to a sensual close, with rippling synths and hypnotic glow.

Having made the call with TC, looked into the future with Jenna G and Futurebound and generally caused a ruckus with their rambunctious new material on a fictional 80s game show, the terrible two are back with their debut album on Hospital Records.

The album features collaborations with some of the UKs finest
vocalists and producers, including: Bristol based tour de force TC,
trance vocalist Shaz Sparks, everyones favourite D+B diva Jenna G,
Viper Recs boss Futurebound, soulful singer Ayah Marar and upcoming
Mancunian talent Skittles.

Cross The Line is everything you d expect and more from the Viennese
pair; a fourteen-track rollercoaster ride of emotions, veering between
polished vocal-led beauties to filthy tear-out monsters, which firmly
establishes Camo & Krooked outside the D+B sphere, as they delve into
dubstep, drumstep, electro-house and everything in between.

Highlights from across the high octane adventure, include opener Get
Dirty with its bouncing, lively melody and feel-good vox, previous
single and dubstep smash All Fall Down / Breezeblock, and the euphoric
feel-good fuzziness of title track Cross The Line. Elsewhere The
Lesson adds a grittier, urban edge, Funk You brings in some punchy
electro-house to the mix, whilst Afterlife brings the album to a
sensual close, with rippling synths and hypnotic glow.

All in all, its an outstanding offering from Camo & Krooked which
proves they are soaring well ahead of the game. This is the sound of
the future!

Those Austrians just keep on bringing the fire to the Hospital camp! Having made the call with TC, looked into the future with Jenna G and Futurebound and generally caused a ruckus with their rambunctious new material on a fictional 80s game show, the terrible two are back with their debut album on Hospital Records.

The album features collaborations with some of the UKs finest vocalists and producers, including: Bristol based tour de force TC, trance vocalist Shaz Sparks, everyones favourite D+B diva Jenna G, Viper Recs boss Futurebound, soulful singer Ayah Marar and upcoming Mancunian talent Skittles.
