Burn ‘world’s flaws’: Wall-building Trump effigy set ablaze on Spanish fire festival

Hundreds of people gathered in Valencia, Sunday, to watch an effigy of US President Donald Trump, displayed building a border wall, burst into flames during the last day of the annual ‘Las Fallas’ festival of the fires celebration. The Falla ‘Ribera – Santa Clara Convent’ built a Trump papier-mache display, surrounded by Chinese-looking models and a dragon figure, with the US President represented building a border wall, dressed in blue overalls and with a trowel in one hand and a brick in the other. The display, also called ‘falla’ (Spanish for ‘fault/flaw’) since it represents the world’s flaws, was set on fire for hundreds of residents and tourists to see, before being extinguished by the local fire brigade. The Fallas is a typical Valencian celebration that commemorates Saint Joseph. Las Fallas celebrates the end of winter and runs over March 15 to 19, with revellers parading giant papier-mache figures, known as ‘ninots’, through the streets before setting them alight and letting off fireworks.

Cannabis Movement in Spain will not be gagged!

Spain is one of the most leading countries in Europa in terms of cannabis decriminalization. The country is also the inventor of and leader in the so called Cannabis Social Clubs. But lately, the Spanish government seems to be determined to bring an end to this revolutionary process. Check out this Cannabis News Network video from our team in Spain.

Cannabis Movement in Spain will not abide to ‘Gag Rule’

In Spain, cannabis is the most commonly used illegal drug. The Spanish Penal Code prohibits its sale but not the personal consumption in private places. Each autonomous community may schedule their way to cannabis legislation. But the law known as ‘Gag Rule’ of the Central Government threatens to toughen sanctions for holders and consumers of cannabis in public spaces, eliminating the possibility to replace it for a rehab treatment. They also want to increase fines from 1,000 to 30,000 euros. A huge nonsense at a time of global changes in drug policy.

The cannabis movement went out on the streets to demand their rights, with the complaint that despite the progress made so far, a common legal model has not yet been agreed upon, to which everyone agrees. The constant contradictions are also highlighted.
It looks as if the Spanish civil society is moving forward while its Government is putting spokes in the wheels. In Barcelona, as well as in Madrid, Valencia and many other cities in Spain, this is already apparent, from the results of the recent regional elections. This autumn, general elections will be held and the future of cannabis in Spain, will be dependent on its outcome.

The Cannabis News Network team in Spain went to Madrid to make a report. Check it out on Cannabis News Network.‏

Putting cannabis bought in Berlin, Vienna and Valencia to the test

http://www.cannabisnewsnetwork.com/videos/cannabis-policy/cannatest-berlin-vienna-valencia/.

In the first episode of the CannaTest, we tested cannabis bought from street dealers in the south of the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
This time, we test weed bought on the streets of three big European cities. And the results are alarming!

Cannabis News Network reporters went out on the streets to buy cannabis from street dealers. By doing so, we try to get an idea of the quality by bringing over our samples to a testing facility in Amsterdam.

The results are quite shocking. Not only were the THC levels surprisingly high, but more alarmingly, possible trace elements of Brix were discovered in one of the samples.

Brix is a liquid consisting of sugar, fluid plastic material and hormones, in which the buds are dipped after harvest. At first sight, Brix-soaked cannabis can almost not be distinguished from unadulterated buds. However, it burns extremely badly, leaves hard ashes and is very bad for your health.

The CannaTest, first ever streettest of cannabis.

Cannabis News Network presents The CannaTest.

On the 9th of March 2015 we published the video ‘Street dealers show failure of Dutch drugs policy’. Today we release the first test of all the cannabis we purchased on the streets in order to get a better idea of its quality.

Lots is being said about the quality of cannabis around the globe. THC-levels, lack of CBD especially for medicinal use, the presence of pesticides and other contaminants, some used to increase weight.

Cannabis News Network is introducing the CannaTest, a test which shows which compounds are present in the plant. Reporters from all over the EU will gather weed from street dealers which will be tested in one testing facility.

The goal? To monitor, record and report the state of cannabis in Europe.

Next time the test results of weed from Berlin, Valencia and Vienna.
