Blokhe4d is the collaborative project between Michael “Vegas” (formerly of Bad Company UK) alongside US-born Jonas “Uman”. The project merges Drum and Bass, Dubstep and Electro with their own brand of Techno, Disco and House in an explosive manner.
They have already secured several releases on Hospital Records, as well as singles on their own Bad Taste imprint and high profile remix work. Currently busy in the studio producing tracks for the forthcoming Hadouken album as well as their own debut artist album.
Vegas has more than 10 years experience at the forefront of the Drum and Bass scene as part of Bad Company UK. This collective had several top selling albums, and their first single was also recently voted the Number 1 D&B track of all time by Knowledge Magazine.
Uman has been behind a slew of releases across the full spectrum of electronic music, notably on Viper Recordings and Timeless. Before this he was also one half of live electrronic act, The Passive Resistance, who won the most prestigious Swiss award for new artists in electronic music, M4Music in 2007.
Available to buy from the 20th December
The heavyweight pairing of ex-Bad Company boy Vegas and Uman, that is Blokhe4d, returns with another ferocious installment of the Bad Taste chronicles.
Blokhe4d on ‘Beyond The Void’: “We have always loved the French House sound, and wanted to incorporate this into a track. The intro to ‘Beyond the Void’ had been around on our hard drive for a while, and we kept playing with different drops and basslines until we found one that fit. It was our plan to make both worlds meet, and we hope we’ve achieved that – the funky ‘in your face’ feel from filter house and the untrimmed brute force of drum and bass together in harmony!”

Rising from the ashes of legendary drum and bass outfit Bad Company who paved the way for the likes of Pendulum, comes an exciting new project masterminded by Maldini and Michael Vegas joined by US-born Swiss producer Uman (previously on DsCi4 and Viper). Following the release of tracks on their own Bad Taste imprint compilations, they showed their melodic side on a recent single for Hospital Records (‘Full Circle/Skyline’), before unveiling their true colours for their proper debut single.
And what a debut: with a razor-edged riff slashing throughout series of disco loops, ‘Last Days Of Disco’ has been annihilating dancefloors for the last few months in the hands of Andy C, Hype and all main players, and the subject of plenty of enthusiastic posts online.
