A cargo vessel carrying more than 90,000 gallons of furnace oil sank in the Sundarbans, home to a number of endangered and rare plant and animal species.

U.S. Navy Tests Laser Weapons in the Persian Gulf
Naval researchers say the system can cripple or destroy asymmetric targets, and cost far less to operate than traditional kinetic weapons such as missiles.
