Live interview Peter Muyshondt (adjunct-korpschef en Directeur Operaties bij de Belgische politie)

Peter is deputy chief of police and Director of Operations at the Belgian police in Brecht. For years he fought in the front line of the war on drugs and believed he was serving society doing so. Meanwhile, his brother Tom was struggling with an addiction to hard drugs. In 2006 he died of an overdose of heroin, cocaine and medicines. Muyshondt wrote a moving book about his relationship with Tom, ‘We were brothers’ (2015), and increasingly doubted the validity of the drug war. In his second book ‘Policy on speed – How the drug war stifles all sense of reason’ (2017), he argues in favor of legalizing all drugs. In doing so, he does what no Dutch colleague dares, in a country where the taboos around drugs are much stronger than in the Netherlands.

I Tried The Tom Brady Diet And Nutrition Plan

I tried the intense diet and fitness regimens that 40-year-old NFL quarterback Tom Brady touts in his new book “The TB 12 Method.” Along with a diet that’s heavy on vegetables and lean protein, Brady stays away from alcohol, caffeine, dairy, and sugar.

This is what it was like to eat and train like Tom Brady for a week, including a taste test of the avocado ice cream Brady is known to enjoy. Following is a transcript of the video.

I just tried the Tom Brady diet for a week. So, Tom Brady’s got this new book called “The TB12 Method.” In the book, he outlines in detail the fitness regimens he undertakes and diet as well. Tom Brady’s nutrition plan definitely made me tweak my already-okay diet.

In terms of the food that I ate during the week, you’re staying away from sugars and dairies and refined carbohydrates, etc. It’s a lot of vegetables, lean white meats. We had ground turkey burgers over lots of greens, peppers, and carrots. We also had a grilled chicken breast, some Brussels sprouts, and then quinoa. Then during the day, I would eat an apple. I would eat almonds.

Tom Brady is all about the hydration and constantly drinking water. It’s recommended that you take your total body weight, cut that in half, and then drink the corresponding amount of ounces of water that’s half your body weight. Every day I would drink approximately 90 ounces of water. Three big Poland Spring bottles of water.

In terms of caffeine, I usually drink like four cups of coffee a day on average, which is a lot. It’s too much. Tom Brady — he does not drink caffeine, but he recommended a maximum amount of 200 milligrams of caffeine a day, and that equals two cups of coffee.

In terms of alcohol, Tom Brady, in the book, says that he does occasionally have a cocktail, but he says that, if you’re going to drink alcohol, you need to match the ounce-amount of alcohol that you drink with water. So if you have a 12-ounce beer, you need to drink a 12-ounce glass of water.

One of the dishes that I tried was the avocado ice cream, which Tom Brady’s been famous for making before. I wasn’t a fan of the avocado ice cream. Sorry, Tom.

Overall, the Tom Brady “TB12” experience was a big improvement over my regular routine. I love always focusing on eating healthy and avoiding unhealthy, rich, sugary foods. I think this is definitely a positive tweak for me. I feel like it’s already had a positive impact on me.

Watch LeBron James defend calling Trump a bum on Twitter

LeBron James defended calling Trump a bum on twitter after the president announced that the Golden State Warriors would not be invited to the White House. Following is a transcript of the video.

Reporter: Is there any regret that you got into a name-calling situation with the president?

LeBron James: No. Name calling? What did I say? Let me hear you say it.

Reporter: You called him a bum.

James: That’s not a name-call. “You bum.” Me and my friends call each other that all the time. I’m not his friend, though. I don’t want to see that on a note. He’s not my friend. No, no, that was the first thing that when I woke up and saw what he said about Steph Curry.

First of all, it’s so funny because it’s like you invite me to your party, right? Matter of fact it’s not like you invited me, it’s almost like, you know, “Tom, hey, I’m not going to be able to make it. I’m not coming.” And then he be like, “Hey LeBron guess what? You’re not invited.” I wasn’t coming anyways.

So that was funny to me when I woke up and saw that. So, and my first initial response was you bum. First of all, you don’t understand the magnitude. He doesn’t understand the power that he has for being the leader of this beautiful country. He doesn’t understand how many kids, no matter the race, look up to the president for the United States for guidance, leadership, for words of encouragement. He doesn’t understand that.

That’s what makes me more sick than anything, that we have someone, this is the number one position in the world. You guys agree? Being the president of the United States is the most powerful position in the world. I don’t know of another one. If you find one let me know. It’s the most powerful position in the world, and we’re at a time where the most powerful position in the world has an opportunity to bring us closer together as a people and inspire the youth and put the youth at ease, saying that it’s okay for me to walk down the street and not be judged because the color of my skin or because of my race. And he has no recollection of that. And he doesn’t even care. Maybe he does. But he doesn’t care. So, do I take away … take away “you bum” off my, no, because if I did I would’ve deleted my tweet.

There’s no doubt that Tom Rockwell’s debut album ‘Obsolete Medium’ last year was a huge breath of fresh air for electronic music. Making its way into Billboard’s top 10 LP’s of 2015 and receiving enormous support from the likes of Zane Lowe, Friction, Mistajam, Annie Mac, UKF, Mixmag, FACT, RA and many more, Rockwell’s long playing take on modern day drum & bass left an indelible mark.

Now we ready ourselves for the first official new music from the Rockwell camp since then as he introduces the ‘Chorus Of Disapproval EP’, another telling title preparing us for Tom’s lurid, uncompromising trademark production inside.

Medicinal Cannabis giving back ‘quality of life’

In this second installment of our Irish mini-series, we get to know Tom Curran’s story. His wife, Marie Fleming, passed away 3 years ago. She suffered from Multiple Scleroses (MS), which ended up taking her life.

In December 2012, Ms Fleming brought her fight to challenge the ban on assisted suicide to the High Court. She had wanted her partner Tom to be able to assist her death without fear of prosecution. When the High Court ruled against her she bravely appealed the decision to the Supreme Court, but in April 2013 her legal battle came to an end when it upheld the original ruling. Their court battle became a landmark case and a national news headline.

After Marie died, Tom came forward advocating for medical cannabis. In his desperation in seeking pain relief for Marie, he bought his first cannabis straight from a street dealer. With “miraculous” results.

The Fade – Tear Out The Page

The Fade came about as a side project for jump up drum and bass producer Envenom to express his love for the entire spectrum of drum and bass, he decided to sit down one night with the intention of making something completely different to usual and soon discovered that it was something he was going to enjoy doing.
