Critical drum & bass imprint Cause4concern know how to make their presence felt . Having ended 2017 on a climatic release from rising stalwart Akov, who proudly stepped up the label’s hold over the scene’s most unrelenting newcomers, they return with another output which solidifies how imperative they’ve come within its very fabric. Slovakian based producer Subtension is the next artist to slide into C4C’s crucial roster, bringing with him a four-track offering which is sure to orchestrate sub-littered damage over the months to come The Nestbox EP highlights the wide ranging scope of a label like Cause4Concern.

AeroMobil’s flying car unveiled at Paris Air Show

Slovakian startup AeroMobil unveiled its new flying car at the Paris Air Show, which it plans to deliver in 2020 to customers who fork out between 1.2 and 1.5 million euros.

Changing Faces – Direction

Released 13th June 2016.

We’re absolutely delighted to welcome back Changing Faces to Fokuz Recordings. Hailing from a small city called Piešťany – Slovakia she infuses warm piano melodies with ambient chords underlined by light paced drums and breaks to create well-considered drum & bass music that’s not only for the dancefloor but the headphone commute as well.

With the Direction EP things are no different as she delivers four intricate cuts. JBT and All That You Got both feature fellow Slovakian producer Ero Drummer. The EP’s title track and The Moment VIP are solo efforts.

Subtension – AK47 [Renegade Hardware]

Subtension
HWARE33
RELEASE: 13th Oct 2014
Listen Here: https://soundcloud.com/renegade-hardware/sets/subtension-ak47-leaving-offset

1. Subtension – AK47
2. Subtension – Leaving
3. Subtension – Offset (Digi only)

Format 12” vinyl & Digital

Renegade Hardware are back again this time with Subtension’s blistering dancefloor smasher Ak47/Leaving double A side vinyl, with bonus number Offset included in the digital bundle.

Slovakian native Subtention, the fourth artist to be added to the Hardware ranks following on from the impressive Compound One compilation EP that was released in March this year, is a versatile, experimentalist with an ear for singular sound design and bassline science who likes to dabble with both full and half time peak time beats and riddims that has previously released on BTK’s Dutty Audio and Samurai Music.

Opening number AK47 is like its namesake; weaponry of the highest quality and calibre. Constructed around rough as you like reese basslines that incorporate dancefloor destroying triplets along-side gruff, evil stabs and modulated madness, the tune smacks you in the face like the hammer of Thor. The tightly coiled, clipped drum beat demands respect with sucking and blowing industrial-esq sound effects – that gently waft in time with the track in the background – working perfectly in conjunction with the tune’s deep subs and classic junglist fills, that when combined, ramp up the levels of dread to claustrophobic levels. It’s a dark, rolling number that perfectly epitomises the beefed up, aggressive Hardware sound.

Minor Rain – Complexity [Sinuous Records]

Fresh from the mind of Slovakian artist, Minor Rain, ‘Complexity’ is an eerie slice of sci-fi badness. Smooth, understated textures are followed by a rumbling bass and complex yet infectious drum patterns. Nasty mild-lines and echoes finish off a track that’ll shake you to your very core. Slickly produced with that trademark Sinuous sound, Minor Rain brings the pain like only he knows how.
