Buy ‘Yesterday’ – http://smarturl.it/sv034shop

In this current age of digital music, the ‘bedroom producer’ is far from an unfamiliar term. Artists who wouldn’t have had a voice prior to the internet can now grace us with their music. Josh Croft & Bailey Greer – hailing from opposite sides of the globe – met for the first time face to face, minutes before for their set at Hospitality In The Park this year. However for the past two years the pair have been overcoming time zones, defeating Skype delay and melding their sounds to become one of the most exciting duos to grace the ever-growing D&B scene. Receiving strong response to their Changes single (SV028) earlier this year, we’ve brought the boys back for an EP which doesn’t disappoint!

The record begins with title track ’Yesterday’ building slowly into a breezy feel-good rhythm, complete with shimmering ascending synth clicks & plucks alongside a warm sub bass. Lyria’s vocals soar above the tracks simple yet effective composition. Now becoming a firm staple in our roster for 2017 and beyond, this English-Australian hybrid deliver a solid EP displaying their versatility as a duo. Don’t forget to grab a copy of Yesterday – dropping on the 10th of November.

On The Line: Nilo Tabrizy Discusses Haiti’s Presidential Turmoil

Follow us on Twitter (https://twitter.com/vicenews) where we’ll announce the next topic for On The Line.

VICE News journalist Nilo Tabrizy (https://twitter.com/ntabrizy) joined On The Line to take your questions about the turmoil over the presidency in Haiti.

Just a week after the departure of Former President Michel Martelly, lawmakers in Haiti have selected Jocelerme Privert as the country’s interim president.

Martelly ended his five-year term on February 7 amid often violent protests over alleged election fraud, and after the opposition candidate boycotted the vote.

The new president’s main task will be to quickly organize fresh elections. The interim government will have a 120-day term but should organize elections by April 24, and hand power over to the winner in May.

On The Line: Kayla Ruble Discusses the Flint Water Emergency

Follow us on Twitter (https://twitter.com/vicenews) where we’ll announce the next topic for On The Line.

VICE News journalist Kayla Ruble (https://twitter.com/RubleKB) joined On The Line to take your questions about lead contaminated water in Flint, MI, and the impact on Flint’s residents.

Earlier this month, Michigan Governor Rick Snyder declared a state of emergency for the city of just under 100,000 people, who are at risk for toxic lead exposure due to citywide contamination in the water system.

Following criticism that clean water was not being distributed efficiently to the city’s residents, the governor called in the National Guard for assistance, and President Barack Obama declared a federal emergency over the weekend, authorizing $5 million of federal assistance, though he stopped short of declaring the crisis a “major disaster.”

Residents across the city had stopped drinking the city water in early 2015, and were forced to purchase bottled water out of their own pocket until state help arrived this month.

On The Line: Henry Langston Discusses the Oregon Standoff

Follow us on Twitter (https://twitter.com/vicenews) where we’ll announce the next topic for On The Line.

VICE News correspondent Henry Langston (@Henry_Langston) joins On The Line to take your questions about the Oregon standoff between militias and the federal government.

Members of an anti-government militia have occupied the headquarters of Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in a remote region of eastern Oregon for over a week, protesting what they claim is an overreaching federal government. The occupation, led by Ammon Bundy and his brother Ryan, was sparked by the re-sentencing of two Oregon ranchers to five years in a federal prison for deliberately starting fires on their property that spread to the bordering Malheur Wildlife Refuge.

While the media has referred to the situation as an armed standoff, federal authorities have kept their distance, and the local authorities, led by Harney County Sheriff David Ward, are also treading lightly.

VICE News traveled to Harney County, Oregon to meet with militia leaders, attend town hall meetings, and speak with local ranchers whom the protesters claim to be representing.

On Thursday at 12pm EST VICE News correspondent Danny Gold (https://www.twitter.com/DGisSerious) joined On The Line to take your questions on the escalating violence between gangs and police in El Salvador.

El Salvador has now eclipsed neighboring Honduras as the most murderous peacetime country in the world. To combat the violence, the government has given police and military permission to shoot first, and ask questions later. The country’s supreme court has ruled that gangs should be defined as terrorist organizations, and gang members can face terrorism charges.

Join Our Skype Group Chat About Climate Change

On Wednesday, December 9th at 7pm ET, join the VICE News for a Skype group chat about Climate Change. To join the conversation, add VICE News on Skype and ask us how to take part.

Ninety-seven percent of qualified scientists say that the earth is getting hotter and human activity is to blame. Data shows the global mean temperature is now 1 degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) above pre-industrial levels. If humanity continues this course, we can expect more frequent and more intense extreme weather events, rising seas, and an unprecedented impact on humanity.

World leaders are meeting in Paris right now to try to come up with a international climate agreement. While the overwhelming majority of the world’s economies have laid out plans to cut their carbon emissions, they’re still short of the goal the United Nations has set for holding the line on global warming.
