Ed:It & J Daure – Into The Light

Released 9th March.

ED:IT is a producer that needs very little introduction. His sound has graced many a label over the past 3 years, including Critical Music, SGN:LTD, C.I.A and Hospital Records to name just a few. Now he fires onto Addictive Behaviour in 2015 with his proud first release of the new year. Consisting of a huge 3 track EP – including – A remix of Eastcolors – ‘Mad Day’, ‘Into The Light’ a collaboration with J Daure and finishing off with one of his own scintillating compositions ‘Valhalla’.

A short octave changing chord gets Into The Light underway before an urgent sounding phat kick and a huge cracking snare prime the track for the introduction of a full, thick, pounding, rhythmic bass. And with plenty of subtle background noises filling the track out, making this a big dance floor stepper, proper rolling vibes.

EastColors – Mad Day (Ed:It Remix)

Released 9th March.

ED:IT is a producer that needs very little introduction. His sound has graced many a label over the past 3 years, including Critical Music, SGN:LTD, C.I.A and Hospital Records to name just a few. Now he fires onto Addictive Behaviour in 2015 with his proud first release of the new year. Consisting of a huge 3 track EP – including – A remix of Eastcolors – ‘Mad Day’, ‘Into The Light’ a collaboration with J Daure and finishing off with one of his own scintillating compositions ‘Valhalla’.

Opening with a sprawling, rich, atmospheric soundscape that although maintains the identity of the original takes it deeper and warmer. The tweaked sounds of the original combining with the new, whilst flickering high hats sit before the haunting and hanging vocal that dissolves away into the drop. An example of how to deliver clean but yet gritty drum programming reminiscent of classic MetalHeadz. Altered, enhanced and superbly re-licked for 2015

A-Cray – Diverted

Released 1st February 2015.

Following another amazing year of heavily supported releases from the likes of Hypoxia, T-Phonic, Juventa, Six Blade and label boss A.M.C, we’re barging into 2015 with the same no-holds-barred attitude. And it all kicks off with A-Cray.

Regulars at the world renowned Czech drum & bass festival Let It Roll and followers of Phace & Misanthrop’s agenda-setting imprint NeoSignal will need no introduction… This 19-year-old’s pedigree has been established for several years. Nominated for Best Newcomer at last year’s Drum&BassArena Awards, his reputation is developing serious with every release. Naturally both of these tracks showcase just why he’s enjoying such widespread scene-acclaim.

‘Diverted’ is all about the tease. Igniting with an eerie, iced-out intro we’re soon hurtled into a rising bass hook that spirals up and up and up demonically with a mischievous sense of paranoia. Rich in chest-press kicks and warm, glock-popping snares, there’s a strong sense of timelessness that will befit D&B DJs of any sub-genre.

Qo – Atari X

Buy: http://btprt.dj/1zhC5Av

It’s been a big year for Eatbrain – the Budapest-based drum & bass label headed up by Jade. Between a highly successful full-length outing with Tales of the Undead LP and solo EPs from an ever growing roster of quality producers, Eatbrain has continued to establish itself as a reliable source for premier neurofunk drum & bass. The beginning of 2015 sees Czech producer Qo deliver his debut solo EP for Eatbrain.

Over the last few years, he’s become one of the strongest voices in hard drum & bass, owing to his expert skills in the studio – where he’s carved out a distinct, aggressive brand of neurofunk – as well as the DJ booth. After absolutely smashing his debut Eatbrain track earlier this year (‘Killcode’) it seemed only fitting that he deliver several more.

The eponymous ‘Atari X’ is a far more disjointed affair . After warming up with a spooky synthetic melody during the onset, Qo takes us into steppy territory with punchy, jagged drums punctuated by an aching reece.

Klute – You Won’t Like It

Buy: http://bit.ly/1JcOwPm

Klute kicks 2015 off with a bang for Commercial Suicide with his first solo 12” outing in many moons.2015 represents a landmark of 20 years since the release of Klute’s first 12” on Certificate 18 records back in 1995. Be prepared for much more Klute this year:

“To mark the occasion i’ve decided to release as much new music as I can throughout the year as singles or EP’s as opposed to my traditional route of saving everything up for an album releases every couple of years. These releases will come on Commercial Suicide as well as other labels….. more news on those will follow.”

There will be a full LP towards the end of 2015, and also a compilation of some of the best Klute stuff towards the middle of the year. Its gonna be a Klute year, basically. And why not?

Skeptical – Playground Chat Back

Buy digital: http://btprt.dj/1Cwp3vR
Vinyl + free mp3’s: http://bit.ly/1C2sXPk

Skeptical will be opening the Exit Records 2015 release schedule on 19th January with a 4 track 12″ EP. Believe it or not, this is Skeptical’s debut solo release on Exit, with previous contributions consisting of his monster collaboration with Dub Phizix and Strategy, the mighty Marka, as well as individual tracks on the Mosaic series 1 and 2.

The EP features the percussive roller and title track ‘Imperial’, which has been taking dance floors deep into the jungle over the last few months in typical Skeptical fashion. As usual with his tracks this is not laptop music. Sub bass is essential to appreciate the full production qualities and the whole EP demonstrates his power to achieve the utmost with the very minimum.
