Holocaust-themed game: ‘Disgrace’ or good educational tool? (DEBATE)

A reality adventure-puzzle game in Greece has sparked an outcry – over its references to the Holocaust.

In particular, it’s based on the story of German businessman Oscar Schindler – who saved more than a thousand Jews during the Second World War. The games website says that players have to assist Schindler in ‘saving innocent people.’ After the public outrage, the company changed the name of a game from ‘Schindler’s List’ to ‘Secret Agent’ – though the story wasn’t altered.

The Jewish community in Greece has condemned the game.

German search for WWII missing drawing to sombre close

Nearly 75 years after the end of the Second World War, pensioner Diethild Heubel is still searching for her father, a German soldier who was interned in Austria in a Soviet prison camp in 1945. He is one of an estimated 1.3 million soldiers and civilians who vanished at the end of the war.

This WW2-Themed Bar Serves A $140 Cocktail

Codebreaking WW2-inspired bar The Bletchley has launched a cocktail that costs £100.

It’s called King George VI and it’s gin-based. They use three different liqueurs for the mix: Monkey 47 (gin), Lanique (rose vodka), and Chambord (raspberry liqueur.)

Bar manager David Ammar told Business Insider: “The recipe is coming from Montgomery Collins who was a British Air Force soldier during the Second World War and went to Germany to help them to rebuild everything back once the war was finished. Lanique is a Polish liqueur and the Chambord is French. Those two were helping England during the war.”

The mix is completed with fresh lemon juice and bitter lemon and infused with hibiscus tea, berries, lemon and orange peel.

The infusion is chilled using dry ice and topped up with mascarpone foam, gold chocolates, edible diamonds, and caramel. It’s finished with gold leaves and sprinkles of gold.

Guests also get a sparkling wine bomb made with an English garden jelly and a garnish of French toasts, Polish pancakes, chocolates, and lollipops.

The King George VI takes 30-40 minutes to make.
