President Donald Trump’s administration has given Saudi Arabia even more time to explain whether it was behind the disappearance of a dissident Saudi journalist.

Jamal Khashoggi has been missing since entering Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2. A team of 15 Saudi men are suspected of killing him within the consulate, with suggestions Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salam ordered the hit against one of his fiercest critics.

On Thursday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, fresh from emergency talks in Riyadh and Ankara, told Trump that the Saudis should be given “a few more days” to investigate what happened to Khashoggi. Later, Trump said he believed Khashoggi is dead.

But Sabah — Turkey’s most widely-read newspaper— in Istanbul has long since reached that conclusion.
