Command Strange – Bring Me Back

Buy: http://bit.ly/DismissEP

Hailing from Kazakhstan, Command Strange has sent shockwaves in the Drum and Bass scene, with his versatile productions showing elements of melodic soul and hard-edged bass. Achieving his first release at only 16 years old, Command Strange’s ability to incorporate jazzy and funky samples into his polished beats has seen him gain support from some of the scene’s OG’s LTJ Bukem, Marky, Goldie, JJ Frost, A Sides, Hype, Fabio & Grooverider and more.

Attracting the attention of V Recordings boss Bryan G, the Russian producer has also worked with Artificial Intelligence – an act widely regarded as helping shape modern Drum and Bass. A partnership which has seen boy sides flourish, with the partnership releasing the huge vocal number Won’t Say Goodbye ft Tali on V Recordings as well as the massive, rolling Mad One ft. Jamakabi on Goldie’s Metalheadz.

Bring Me Back is the perfect blend of attitude and melody. Warm pads and classic amens continue the nostalgic tone whilst an incessant juggernaut like bassline brings things crashing back to 2014.

Unverified & Exposed: NYT-State Dept ‘Russians in Ukraine’ Image Proof Collapses

Pictures presented by Washington and Kiev as evidence of Russia’s involvement in Ukraine, and published on Monday by the New York Times, were unverified and in fact contradicted the claims they were to support.

The US State department acknowledged the error and the New York Times back-tracked on its Monday story, which claimed “photographs and descriptions from eastern Ukraine endorsed by the Obama administration … suggest that many of the green men are indeed Russian military and intelligence forces”.

The proof was this particular picture with an inscription “Group photograph taken in Russia”.

Freelance photographer Maxim Dondyuk took the photo.

“It was taken in Slavyansk [Ukraine],” he told NYT over the phone. “Nobody asked my permission to use it.”

The picture was amongst others Kiev gave the OSCE mission to Ukraine to ‘prove’ Russian involvement in the massive unrest gripping the Donetsk region.

The State Department repeated the claims, citing ‘confirmation’ of Moscow involvement.

“We see in the photos that have been again in international media, on Twitter, publicly available is that there are individuals who visibly appear to be tied to Russia. We’ve said that publicly a countless number of times,” Jen Psaki, State Dept spokeswoman said.

The New York Times eventually published a climbdown Wednesday – ‘Scrutiny Over Photos Said to Tie Russia Units to Ukraine’, where it admitted failing to properly verify the Kiev photo dossier.

Simon Ostrovsky Questions “Mayor” of Sloviansk: Russian Roulette in Ukraine (Dispatch 29)

Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News

Before VICE News correspondent Simon Ostrovsky was detained on April 21 and held by pro-Russia separatists in Sloviansk, he filed this dispatch featuring an interview with his future captor, the city’s self-appointed “people’s mayor,” Vyacheslav Ponomarev. Simon was released on Thursday.

Simon went to Sloviansk to investigate reports of a shooting at a checkpoint outside of the city on Easter Sunday. At least three people were reportedly killed in the incident. Pro-Russia forces and Russian media outlets quickly blamed the Ukrainian nationalist group Right Sector for the assault. After interviewing local Ukrainian police, who couldn’t confirm the number of deaths, Simon attended a briefing where he questioned Ponomarev directly about the alleged shooting.

First Evidence of Russian Boots on the Ground: Russian Roulette (Dispatch 26)

Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News

On Monday, pro-Russia protesters stormed a police station in the eastern Ukrainian city of Horlivka. VICE News correspondent Simon Ostrovsky was there as they seized the building. Inside, the demonstrators attacked a police officer accused of pushing someone out of a window while the person was trying to display a Russian flag. Later that day, a video emerged on the internet showing a man purporting to be a Russian army colonel giving orders to troops in eastern Ukraine. This is the first bit of evidence that there might already be Russian boots on the ground in the country.

Pro-Russian Protesters Occupy State Security Service Building: Russian Roulette (Dispatch 24)

Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News

Pro-Russian protestors in Luhansk, the most Eastern city in Ukraine, took over the headquarters of the state security services on April 9. Armed with guns they found in the building, the demonstrators were determined not to leave. VICE News correspondent Simon Ostrovsky visited the occupied building, which despite the occupation, was surprisingly calm.

But not everyone in Luhansk wants to join Russia — and some who express that sentiment are suffering dire consequences. We spoke to one resident who said he was severely beaten for siding with Ukraine, and another who is determined to leave the area if Luhansk becomes Russian. Amid calls for parts of Ukraine to join Russia, the tension and unrest across the country is spreading — and it is becoming increasingly difficult to predict what will happen next.

The day after Crimea’s controversial referendum, in which 97 percent of the peninsula’s population supposedly voted to join the Russian Federation, Ukraine’s newly-formed National Guard began training in anticipation of further Russian aggression.

Against the backdrop of exploding RPGs, the crackling of heavy machine guns, and the rumbling cannons of the BTRs, Ukrainian officials and the international media got a first look at the ragtag civilian force that could be on the front lines of the new cold war.

Putin: Crimeans Expressed Their Will in Full Accordance with Intl Law, UN Charter

The referendum in Crimea was fully consistent with international law and UN Charter, Russian President Vladimir Putin told Barack Obama, after the overwhelming majority of Crimeans expressed their willingness to join Russia.

The citizens of the peninsula have been given an opportunity to freely express their will and exercise their right to self-determination, the Russian president said in a phone conversation with his US counterpart, according to Kremlin’s press service.

With a record-breaking turnout of over 80 percent, according to preliminary results, over 95 percent of the Crimean population said ‘yes’ to the reunion of the republic with Russia. International observers have not reported any violations or anything resembling any kind of pressure during the vote.

However, Obama said the Unites States and the “international community” will “never recognize” the results of the referendum “administered under threats of violence and intimidation,” according to White House spokesman.

Obama “emphasized that Russia’s actions were in violation of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity” and that the US in coordination with its European partners is “prepared to impose additional costs on Russia,” the White House added.

Despite the existing differences in the assessment of the situation in Ukraine, the leaders of Russia and US have agreed that they must jointly seek to help stabilize the situation in the country, the Kremlin said.

“Putin drew attention to the inability and unwillingness of the current Kiev authorities to curb rampant ultra-nationalist and radical groups, destabilizing and terrorizing civilians, including Russian-speaking population, and our fellow citizens,” Kremlin statement reads.

In this context, the possibility of sending an OSCE monitoring mission to Ukraine was discussed, the press office reported. The Russian President believes such a mission should be extended to all Ukrainian regions.

Ukraine: Defending the Homeland

Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News

Last week the Ukrainian government announced the formation of the National Guard, after it was revealed that the army only had 6,000 combat ready troops compared to Russia’s 200,000. The volunteer force will bolster the under-strength military and protect Ukraine’s borders after Crimea having been effectively annexed and Russian forces now building up along Ukraine’s eastern border.

The first to answer the call were the self defense groups who fought on the barricades during last month’s revolution. So we headed down to the Maidan to hopefully tag along with them to the training grounds outside of Kiev for their induction day.

Kerry Goes Full Retard: “You just don’t invade another country on phony pretext […]”

The US Secretary of State spoke today of the unacceptability of invading a sovereign country on phony pretexts in order to assert one’s own interests in the 21st century. But no, he was not speaking about the United States, as one might have thought.

“You just don’t invade another country on phony pretext in order to assert your interests,” John Kerry said during an interview with NBC’s Meet the Press. “This is an act of aggression that is completely trumped up in terms of its pretext. It’s really 19th century behaviour in the 21st century.”

Kerry has also threatened to isolate Russia economically and politically and warned of potential asset freezes and visa bans, adding to media and political hype that followed Russia authorization of sending a stabilization force in Crimea on official request from the authorities.

“There could be certainly disruption of any of the normal trade routine, there could be business drawback on investment in the country,” he said. “There could even be ultimately asset freezes, visa bans.”

Although Kerry was never challenged by the interviewer to comment in terms of that statement on Washington’s own constant threats to use force and military invasions in Iraq and Afghanistan, those who watched the interview immediately smelled the hypocrisy.

“Since when does the United States government genuinely subscribe and defend the concept of sovereignty and territorial integrity? They certainly are not doing that at the moment in Syria,” Marcus Papadopoulos, commentator for ‘Politics First’ told RT. “They certainly did not do that when they attacked Libya. They certainly didn’t do that when they invaded Iraq. They certainly didn’t do that when they attacked Serbia over Kosovo and then later on recognized Kosovo’s unilateral declaration of independence. The United States government merely pays lip service to sovereignty and territorial integrity, it picks and choses.”

Since the crisis in Ukraine escalated to a point where the lives of the Russian speaking population of Ukraine has become threatened, Kerry’s reaction comes, some believe, as the most ridiculous thus far, taking into account US own history of military actions all over the globe.

Russian hell raisers repping with raw clarity: few acts have shown such broad skills as Teddy Killerz. Since emerging two years ago, they’ve worked with some of the biggest names across D&B, glitch, trap, dubstep and beyond. In each and every instance they’ve demonstrated an innate understanding of all genres with alarming killer motifs.

Their debut EP for Program sees them return to the source. D&B is where it began for the trio, and it’s where they show their most muscular, mindbending musical skills. Appearing on Andy C’s ‘Nightlife 6’ in November 2013 with the pranged out ‘Impossible’, these four tracks will be smashing dancefloors worldwide.

We kick off with the stunning ‘Big Blow’. Truly unique, it combines sharp percussive elements and a waspish bassline with a deep funk hook that’s entrenched in dramatic pianos and jazzy organs. Timeless, distinctive and daring, there is nothing out there like this.

‘Jackyl & Hyde’ follows. A physical gritty groove slams and shoves with power while Coppa lays down crisp lyrical messages. Textured with intricate production elements and more of the trio’s emphatic drum dynamics, it’s an instant head-turner.

Next up: ‘Era’. Delving further into the darkness, the trio whisk us on a mission into deep space. Smelting elements of complex neuro production with classical, minimal funk, ‘Era’ weaves a tight sci-fi web that’s guaranteed to take your floor to another planet.

Finally we hit ‘Una Mattina’. Flipping the triplet switch with euphoric glee, what begins as a rush-fuelled star-gazer soon drops us head-first into another devious, bass-bitten workout. Swaggering with an infectious confident groove, we’re bombarded with an array of precision synth shots, sweeps and stabs, each element adding a wealth of funk to the overall vibe.

Living up to their name in a major way, Teddy Killerz really are killing it with these four shock-outs. It’s time, once again, to get with the Program!

Sweden Engaged in Industrial Espionage Against Russia

According to a wire, obtained by Swedish TV program ‘Mission: Investigate’, Sweden’s National Defense Radio Establishment (FRA) shared intelligence on Russia with Washington.

“Thank Sweden for its continued work on the Russian target, and underscore the primary role that FRA plays as a leading partner to work the Russian Target, including Russian leadership, ENERGY, … and … counterintelligence,” NSA wire said, as cited by SVT.

The earlier omitted part of the quote reveals that Sweden was tapping on civilian targets as well. One source told the documentary there was “a very obvious interest in looking at the Russian companies” confirming it was “a part of the mission.”
