Hugh Hardie – Shadows & Silhouettes (Album Mini-Mix)

Buy or stream ‘Hugh Hardie – Shadows & Silhouettes’ here: https://HughHardie.lnk.to/Shadowsyb

After a two year hiatus, Bristol-based Hugh Hardie returns with 13-stunning tracks on his second studio album, ‘Shadows & Silhouettes’. After the success of the ‘Colourspace’ LP, he’s continued to develop his drum & bass style, producing a plethora of beautiful summer liquid, slick drumfunk and smooth down-tempo beats. He’s teamed up with the high-rising talents Pola & Bryson, Silence Groove and Unglued, as well as singer-songwriters Emer Dineen, Cimone, Robert Manos and Charlie Brix.

Kicking things off is a glistening dose of summer soul, ‘Raindrops’ featuring London-based singer/songwriter Cimone. Calling back to the Hospital loungecore sound, this stunning liquid roller brings untold levels of elegancy with soothing piano and that feel-good flavour Hugh Hardie is loved for.

Another shade of Hugh Hardie’s latest musical design is ‘Resistance’. An unlikely pairing with Hospital’s young wildcard Unglued but this drum-heavy dancefloor monster has all the stand-out trimmings of a jungle banger with skittering synths and warped vocal cuts.

Back down the path of soul-filled drum & bass is ‘Endless’ featuring Emer Dineen, a voice recognised for her many features on London Elektricity’s own productions. Plus there’s ‘Negomi’, with its funky bassline riff and east-asian inspired string work.

In addition to an impressive array of solo D+B productions, ‘Shadows & Silhouettes’ also sees a special feature from Shogun Audio’s Pola & Bryson on ‘Siren’. Together they’ve created a real stand out moment of the album with this captivating garage / breaks 130BPM road trip.

Available across digital and streaming platforms, CD, and 2×12” transparent hot-fuschia and ocean-blue coloured vinyl, with artwork design from fellow Cambridge turned Bristol-based artist, Mr Penfold.

Dom & Roland – A New Renegade

Buy: http://bit.ly/2djsJ1q

This full length album for Headz from Jungle Drum & Bass alumni Dom & Roland comes at a perfect time for the artist and the label, it follows his massive ‘Outta Endz / Unofficial Jah remix’ release and comes at a time where the label has been at its most fertile in recent memory.

The album harks back to pioneering 90s aesthetic of the music but it doesn’t feel retrospective, in fact it feels futuristic- a thread that Dom has made sure ties all his work together. The reference points for the album stretch far and wide, from the inspiring and equally green eyed Sunday Sessions at Blue Note to RZA’s approach to sampling.

Dom’s own words on the album perhaps shed the most light:

“The album is inspired and processed via a collection of moments I had through growing up, the things i was into, memories of good and bad times i’d had and the music i was listening to at the time”

Collaborations are kept sparse and potent, US legend Hive turns in a very rare appearance on D.M.T and vocal features come from Robert Manos and Natalie Duncan.

The album is Dom & Roland exorcising his artistic demons and we’re proud to be releasing the project on Metalheadz.

Adred – Drones

Released 30th October.

Four tracks filled with textures, rhythms and feelings, Adred has alongside co-writers Robert Manos, TRAC and Lystone, put together a body of work that shows a versatility and understanding of what makes for music with longevity and character.

‘Drones’ steps out tough yet deep, with an eerie vocal from rapper TRAC telling us what we all know to be the truth. Atmospheres wrap it all together, with a powerful pulsing mid bassline pulling the listener in every direction.

Nu:Logic – Halflight – Official Video

Hospital Shop – https://www.hospitalrecords.com/shop/release/nulogic/nhs231-what-i39ve-always-waited-for/#tracks-NHS231DDS
iTunes – https://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/what-ive-always-waited-for/id608308916?uo=4&at=11l9mP

This is the fourteenth in a series of videos from the Nu:Logic album “What I’ve Always Waited For”, which is due for release on Hospital Records on March 25th. Working with director Nez Savaşkan we wanted to create visual accompaniments for each of Nu:Logic’s tunes which captured the vibe and feeling of each track. This resulted in a series of fourteen simple vignettes not conforming to the standard conventions you might expect from a promo video.

It’s important to remember these are video edits… If you want the full Nu:Logic audio experience make sure you pre-order your copy of the new album now, here
https://www.hospitalrecords.com/shop/… and stay up to date with all videos by subscribing the Hospital YouTube channel.

Nu:Logic is a collaborative partnership between Hospital stalwarts Nu:Tone and Logistics. Individually, the Gresham brothers have released a total of seven long players already on Hospital, each to great critical acclaim. The sum of their combined powers is oozing with the kind of soulful drum + bass, which is the foundation of the Hospital label and will satisfy long term fans who hanker after the golden days of the genre.

Having brought us the Nu:Logic “New Technique” EP in 2010 and the recently released follow up single “Morning Light / Grizzly”, the duo now bring us their highly anticipated debut album “What I’ve Always Waited For”.

Opening with the calm, mellow soothing sounds of “Morning Light” we are taken through a variety of styles across the 14-track album. Vocal-driven cuts are peppered throughout the album and there’s some top collaborations in there, including “Everlasting Days (ft. Lifford)” with its warm, uplifting vibe, the growling spoken swagger of “We Live There (ft. DRS)” and the blissed out “Shoot Me Down (ft. Robert Manos)”.

Elsewhere, don’t miss out on the excellent “Start Again (ft. S.P.Y)” with the raw, bass heavy menacing tones, as well as the meditative title track “What I’ve Always Waited For” which is all whirring atmospherics and pattering drums. Two interludes “Escape Pod” and “Dusk” successfully segment the album into thirds. With so many musical gems to choose from, one thing is for sure – this has been worth waiting for.
