Participants of the counter-protest held up photographs of Luebcke and banners calling for unity and denouncing racism, while ‘Die Rechte’ supporters were seen holding nationalist flags and marching through the streets of the city.
Some 31 people were reportedly temporarily detained or taken into custody by the police during the rally, which coincided with the 75th anniversary of a failed assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler.
