A charter plane carrying evacuees from the Chinese city at the centre of the deadly novel coronavirus outbreak lands at an RAF base in Britain. The flight touched down at Royal Air Force base Brize Norton, in Oxfordshire, south central England, shortly after 1:30 pm (1330 GMT), with 83 British citizens and 27 others on board. IMAGES

RAF, firefighters scramble to prevent English dam collapse | AFP

British Royal Air Force (RAF) helicopters lower bags of aggregate into the damaged part of a reservoir dam wall on the verge of collapse, as firefighters pump out water. The Toddbrook Reservoir dam is feared to be on the verge of caving in following heavy rain, threatening the lives and homes of residents in the central English town of Whaley Bridge who have been evacuated.
