Clashes broke out between police and antifascist protesters in Genoa on Thursday, as a counter-protesters tried to break up the far-right rally of CasaPound Italy (CPI).
Genoa’s antifa organisations called on the people to rally against the far-right event scheduled to take place in Piazza Marsala.
Three people were injured – according to local media – while police made use of tear gas to disperse the crowds.
Police then reportedly arrested two people and protesters led a small procession to police headquarters demanding their release.
