Ulterior Motive – Tech2

Skankandbass returns to London for their second event, 8th March 2017. Attend on Facebook: http://bit.ly/SNB2-FB
Buy tickets on UKF: http://bit.ly/SNB-UKF2 // Buy tickets on RA: http://bit.ly/SNB-RA2

Long time regular label guests Ulterior Motive take a break from their Metalheadz duties to deliver their first ever solo release for Shogun Audio, ‘The Real EP’. Drawing across the deep rolls of the title track featuring Pendulum’s Verse on vocals to the liquid gold of ‘I Remember’ through to the proper riddims of ‘Jungle Jam’, Ulterior Motive yet again demonstrate their formidable production styles that have seen them become one the most sought after drum & bass artists in the scene today.

“’The Real EP’ is our first solo project since 2015 and our first ever solo release for Shogun. We really enjoy the diversity that an EP offers and wanted to showcase a wider spectrum of what we’ve been working on over the past 12 months. We teamed up with Verse to bring back some of the blueprint UM sound with a modern twist. As always we like to look back to look forward, ‘The Real EP’ is a nod to the past as we look to the future.” Ulterior Motive 2016

‘Segment & Concept Vision’ are the rising stars in the thriving neurofunk scene. With heavy releases on labels like Eatbrain, Bad Taste, Blackout Music and Dutty Audio the Russian techno wizzards are always on top with their bass heavy beats, perfect arrangements and excellent sound design.

Pendulum – No One Knows

Today is the day “Hold Your Colour” by Pendulum was released ten years ago on Breakbeat Kaos. This was their debut album, and has been easily the most prolific and influential album that has ever graced Drum & Bass music. While definitely not everyone agrees on the pop-ier sounds of the tracks, the album was a gateway for myself and lots others into the DnB scene and the production quality and melodic genius of 2005 Pendulum is definitely worth acknowledging and appreciating, even if it doesn’t hit that underground sweet spot.

That being said, it might not come as that much of a surprise, a disappointment, or both that I am uploading a Pendulum track today. While they are the name that everyone in the scene thinks about when you hear about Pop-DnB or “mainstream” DnB, these guys used to crush out ridiculously high quality Neurofunk. Before “Hold Your Colour”, Pendulum’s single vinyl releases were mostly completely dark and tech influenced. Look at classics like “Ulterior Motive” and “Vault”. “No One Knows” is the pinnacle (in my opinion) of those Pendulum tracks. This one is just far too groovy and technically impressive to not be uploaded on this special day, and it is even better that “No One Knows” is actually EXTREMELY hard to get a hold of today in 320kbps .mp3 quality. It was released for free on the official Pendulum website for a very limited amount of time as a way of saying thanks to fans for getting “Slam” to the UK Top 40 charts. Rob Swire (Pendulum’s front man) says that he hates this track more than any other Pendulum track, but I simply cannot see how he thinks that, but now you should listen and form your own opinion regarding that statement. You should be able to see how easy it is to disagree.

Weapons Grade is a channel for uploading only the most forward thinking and stomping underground Neurofunk. I will try my best to promote only the truly under-appreciated tunes that go lesser heard. Uploads will probably be daily, or possibly even more frequently. Every track featured here has been purchased from the respective label, and is in 320 kbps (MP3) quality before upload. All artwork in every video is from http://www.wallhaven.cc/ unless otherwise stated! I won’t feature any track on this channel that isn’t advanced Neurofunk and I will never monetize a video. This channel is purely for your entertainment and discovery, and for my hobby. I hope you guys enjoy thoroughly!

If there is a problem with any of the tracks uploaded, please consult at me at my email (found on my channel under “For business enquiries”). I will take necessary measures to make content owners satisfied with the state of their track, whether it be on the channel or not. If you wish to submit a track for possible upload, please send it to me via the same email.

Dropframe – Maze (Ekko & Sidetrack Remix)

FREE DOWNLOAD: http://bit.ly/1GyBuYS

A brilliant gully new free download from Ekko & Sidetrack for Melbourne artist Dropframe. Ekko and Sidetrack are brothers, Jeff and Jono Hansen. Raised in Perth, Australia, learning instruments and listening to their parents varied music collection these two got into production around 2008. Armed with an old version of Ableton and no idea what the hell a VST was they cut their teeth on a pair of PC speakers and a laptop. Seven years and a new studio later this duo have found their sound – A mixture of dancefloor, liquid, future jazz and big bass.

Over the last few years they have released music on several small labels including Interphase recordings, Breach audio & Cue recordings but last year took a big step by featuring on the Viper Recordings Summer Slammers LP. As well as producing music they have supported some of the biggest names in drum and bass including Friction, Pendulum, Shockone, Matrix & Futurebound, Brookes Brothers and Netsky.

Heamy – Backbone [Bad Taste Recordings]

Buy it here ► https://badtasterecordings.databeats.com/download/bt041dd

After honing his craft for the last 5 years, Heamy launches onto Bad Taste with the versatile Spacetime EP. Packing in 8 interstellar tracks of precisely engineered Drum and Bass, the latest release on Bad Taste is an exciting new chapter for a producer on the rise.

At only 23 years old, the Russian based Dmitrii Mitrofanov aka Heamy has already gained a cult following in the Neurofunk scene. Drawing on influences such as Pendulum, Noisia, Spor, Camo & Krooked as well as Amon Tobin and Bonobo, Heamy’s precise yet melodic style has attracted the attention of Tamrecords, and even earned him uploads on the mighty NeurofunkGrid Youtube channel.

Now, the young producer steps up to Bad Taste with the Spacetime EP. A milestone in Heamy’s career, the Spacetime EP takes listeners on a multi faceted journey, with dancefloor smashers, atmospheric rollers and everything in between. Featuring the unstoppable juggernaut ‘Digital Mayhem’, a collaboration with Asphexia, as well as the incessant ‘Vortex’ and ‘Spacetime’, Heamy’s debut EP on Bad Taste packs in the weapons – but also features more atmospheric tracks like Little Empire. For a complete journey through Heamy’s sonic vision, a full length mix is also included.

A statement of intent from one of Neurofunk’s most exciting talents, Heamy’s Spacetime EP kicks off 2015 in style.

Telekinesis, the collaborative force of innovative and forward-thinking Slovenian artists Smooth and Markoman, release their highly anticipated new EP “Judgement Day” on July 1, 2013. The five-track EP will be released via Blackout, the quickly expanding brainchild label of Black Sun Empire.
Fresh off of their remixes for Black Sun Empire’s “Inpeak” and “All Is Lost,” and gaining momentum from their last venture “The Nightwalkers” EP (which received widespread support from the likes of Optiv, Pendulum and Ed Rush), this fiery installment is set to raise Telekinesis’ profile further. Already hailed by Crissy Cris, Excision and Amon Tobin, “Judgement Day” is a dark foray through the realms of drum and bass. From the dark bombast of the title track to the blinding fury of “Diablo,” the EP is packed with heavy flow and swooping drops.
