‘Everyone died. Only Tanya is left’: 12yo girl’s diary documents horror of Leningrad siege

Tanya Savicheva left a legacy behind. She survived the siege of Leningrad during WW2 and left evidence documenting Nazi crimes that was later used during the Nuremberg Trials – a diary containing nine pages and very few words. The most frequently used was death.
