Grafix – Acid Generation (Official Music Video)

WARNING: This video contains flashing imagery

Buy or stream Grafix ‘Refuge EP’ here: https://grafix.lnk.to/RefugeEPyb

Grafix finally unveils his new sound to the world on his remarkable ‘Refuge’ EP – his first solo release in almost ten years since departing from his long-term collaborative outfit. Delve into his new found inspiration across four tracks that explore the world of underground dancefloor drum & bass.

The acid-techno inspired ‘Acid Generation’ calls back to the sound of rave counterculture through the late 80s, with a rapid-fire relay of metallic stabs that pack enough punch to surge through any concrete jungle.

Original Grafix fans will relish in the power-chords and big leads of ‘Refuge’, that feature the addictive vocals of Bristol’s Ruth Royall. ‘Photons’ is a welcomed switch-up, bringing in Grafix’s love of house and garage with stabbing percussions and ethereal synths. As ‘Rain Fall Down’ calls out Grafix has his new musical vision clear in sight.

As a duo, Grafix has previously released three albums with Hospital Records that included the huge drum & bass anthems ‘Major Happy’, ‘Forest Fires’, ‘Ultraviolet’, ‘Tension’ and many more. He’s had radio support from the likes of Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, MistaJam, Rene LaVice, as well as club support from the biggest in the game.

He’s previously toured the globe and this summer he continues to take dancefloors by storm with sets at Glastonbury, Liquicity Festival, Hospitality On The Beach, Boardmasters and more.

Taken from Hospitality On The Beach 2019 compilation: https://HospitalRecords.lnk.to/HOTB2019yb

In 2018 Hospital Records flew the drum & bass family to the shores of Tisno for a five day getaway in the glorious Croatian sunshine. Ahead of the next ultimate drum & bass holiday, Hospital Records proudly present the ‘Hospitality On The Beach 2019’ compilation. Over 25 brand new tracks from the likes of Flava D, Grafix, Kyrist, Kings Of The Rollers, DJ Marky, Logistics, A.Fruit and many more, will provide the official soundtrack of the summer.

Bassline and UKG royalty Flava D brings her second official D+B release, ‘Human Trumpet’ following the Annie Mac favourite ‘Return To Me’. Her latest venture into 174 stylings is another slick display of effortless smoothness calling back to that classic Hospital loungecore sound.

Grafix continues his new solo mission with the dark, techy club banger, ‘Radiance’. Expect high octane tech with shimmering synths and skewed vocals to boot. Plus Cambridge brothers Nu:Tone and Logistics band together for a glorious summer dose of Nu:Logic magic on their remix of Netsky’s ‘Iron Heart’.

With prime selections from the likes of Metrik, Sweetpea, Kasra, S.P.Y, Chris Inperspective, Makoto, Bou and more, this mixed CD and digital release is best served loud, with crisp refreshing beverages, a beaming sun and sand between the toes.

S.P.Y – See Your Face Again

Buy or stream ‘S.P.Y – Dubplate Style’ here: http://S.P.Y.lnk.to/DubplateStyleyb

Since the release of his last long-player, S.P.Y has been digging through the crates – rediscovering his love for all things jungle, hardcore and breakbeat. He began his ‘Dubplate Style’ journey in 2018, paying homage to original jungle culture and kitting out two studios with vintage synths and sequencers to recreate that authentic jungle feel. Across fifteen heavyweight tracks he’s put a fresh twist on the music that originally brought him into the world of drum & bass.

Kicking things straight into gear is the stripped back stealthy banger ‘After The Rain’ featuring the deep, grizzly tones of legendary MC GQ. Continuing the bassweight reign is the reggae-tipped ‘Runaway Dub’, plus ‘Whole In The Speaker’ that’s the ultimate throwback and new-school hybrid with a unique hardcore edge that calls back to raves from across the eras. S.P.Y mixes up the tempos with the nostalgic ‘See Your Face Again’, complete with uplifting vocals and rave piano. This future summer classic has all the right components to soundtrack the sunshine.

After being inspired by the rich history of labels like Moving Shadow, V Recordings, Good Looking, Full Cycle, XL, Formation, Dread, amongst many others, S.P.Y proudly presents the jungle sounds of past, present and future in his ‘Dubplate Style’ LP.

Krakota x Urbandawn – Laguna

Buy/stream here: https://HospitalRecords.lnk.to/FocusShiftEPyb

Two of Hospital Record’s most electrifying artists have formed an allegiance for a true coming together of titans. Bournemouth’s Krakota and Sao Paulo’s Urbandawn have combined their production talents to create the five-track ‘Focus Shift’ EP – a real drum & bass mash up of styles and sonic sequences.

The aptly named ‘Coyote’ is an absolute howler, unashamedly powerful and loaded with energy, distorting and plunging itself into new streams of audio chaos throughout.

‘Laguna’ fits with their alter-egos – sweet, pensive and majestic. Operating within a more classic Hospital framework, this rolling stroke of musical bliss will leave no party unsatisfied.

Sitting in the middle of this concerted creation is title track ‘Focus Shift’. Informed by both liquid-funk and tech styles, it’s gelled together with scathing bass riffs and high profile percussive chops.

‘Epigram’ has all the bassweight you’d expect from such a monolith collision of production powerhouses. Crisp and sinful, with a consistently militant atmosphere this song is pure depth, darkness and danger; with a genuinely intriguing sonic progression that renders this track as devastating as weapons grade plutonium.

Seeing the release home is ‘Paladin’. An ardent dancefloor destroyer that fuses the power of the stepper with the groove of a roller, that even angels would find themselves bustin’ a skank. Uplifting and powerful with cosmic subtleties in the low end twinned with sombre melodies and skittering drum-work all tempered in unison to create a certified banger.

Interview with Elsa Esmeralda

Urbandawn – Cloudless is OUT NOW! Buy Here: https://HospitalRecords.lnk.to/cloudl

This year Hospital Records announced an unexpected addition to their roster, Brazilian-born Urbandawn.

Previously unknown in the spheres of drum & bass yet has shone through with his melodic and soulful drum & bass that’s polished to perfection. Following his well-received debut single “Neon Nights” is the charming “Cloudless” EP – four tracks encompassing every element of Urbandawn from his sweet-natured, warming tones to high-energy dance-floor impacts.

Title-track “Cloudless’ is the result of an unexpected session in London Elektricity’s south-east London home-studio. Expect an instantly inviting vocal-lead arrangement performed by “Just One Second” singer Elsa Esmeralda who compliments the instrumental qualities with a beautiful, harmonic performance.

Adding another string to his bow is an unorthodox title for an unorthodox track. Screaming for the dance is Urbandawn’s ‘Pavlov’s Dog’ that uses unconventional arrangements and unusual sounds in an effort to make noise against the rising glamorization and formulaic predictability of “EDM culture”. Jazz inspired piano chords lead the way over fierce beats in “Under Your Sheets” followed by a call back to the summer months with “Vona”.

Etherwood – We’re Nothing Without Love (feat. S.P.Y)

Hospital Shop: http://bit.ly/33blueleaves / iTunes: http://bit.ly/5blueleaves / Google Play: http://bit.ly/blueleavesgp / Spotify: http://bit.ly/lmwhspotify

Almost two years on from his incredibly well-received debut album and Etherwood is back with the highly anticipated, “Blue Leaves” LP, a body of work showcasing the sheer talent of one of the UK’s most exciting artists in electronic music. Within this fourteen-track LP, Etherwood has not only displayed his perfected production skills but also outshone more than ever before with his own vocal performances and instrumental prowess.

Captivating listeners with his creativity, Etherwood explores the finer soundscapes of drum & bass, relaying the liquid beauty that his continually growing following have come to love him for. Included are the already popular 2015 releases, “You’ll Always Be a Part of Me”, “Souvenirs” featuring Zara Kershaw and most recent single, “Light My Way Home” featuring Eva Lazarus, premiered by BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac. Within fourteen tracks, not one is undeserving of its place on what is a truly outstanding album.

Enriched with sublime symphonic sounds, “For A Time I Was You” and “Cast Away” drift through epic elevations and enrapturing orchestral outbreaks that will undoubtedly stop all in their tracks. Powerful string sections, moving piano-led melodies and rolling percussions exude elegance, staying true to Etherwood’s signature sound.

The heart of “Blue Leaves” lies within “Revive”, rich with raw emotion and Eva Lazarus’ unforgettable vocal hooks – a musical match made in heaven between Etherwood and longstanding Hospital Records signee, Logistics. The album’s soul is sparked with a S.P.Y collaboration in “We’re Nothing Without Love”, a testament to Etherwood’s growth as an impressive singer/songwriter.

Similarly, “Caption”, “Breathe It In” and “Sunlight Splinters” highlight his completed skill set, with crisp percussions and soft waves of bass bound by his own powerful vocal performance. Finally, the breath-taking finale of “The Last Hour” draws a quaint close to the Etherwood 2.0 experience.

Since signing to Med School, Etherwood has risen from a humble underground following to gaining support from some of the world’s most respected DJs and broadcasters with his most recent releases receiving regular airwave play on BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, Kiss FM, Capital Radio and Rinse FM. The “Blue Leaves” LP is sure to set Etherwood on the same promising path showcasing his ever-growing repertoire of electronic masterpieces for one of the most inspiring drum & bass albums of the year.

Lynx – Clap Track (Official Video)

Follow Hospital Records on Spotify: https://HospitalRecords.lnk.to/Spotifyyc
Buy Here: http://HospitalRecords.lnk.to/IAMLynxyc – Available as an Instant Grat on iTunes now!

Bold and fearless, Lynx steps away from the norm to deliver the unheard verses of drum & bass with his rule defying LP, ‘I Am Lynx’.

After signing to Hospital Records in June 2014, we were given a brief taste of his diversity with the release of his ‘Where Are You’ EP late last year. Since then Lynx has continued to rattle cages with his unconventional sounds and all-encompassing repertoire. Stocked full of crazed quirks and indefinable styles ‘I Am Lynx’ raises the bar, deviating from any D+B predictability.

Best bet is to expect the unexpected, ‘Circles’ leads the way featuring the infectious, layered vocals of Master X. Followed closely by ‘Ghost Train’, emitting haunting string sections and bold vocal chop-ups to give a relentless, industrial-sounding insight into the mind of Lynx. ‘Clap Track’ tears down the walls with reverberated kicks and warped bass waves going hand-in-hand with the attitude exuding ‘Drop That’. Soulful and indulgent ‘Chord Time’ and ‘Only She Knows’ break away from the rest, showcasing Lynx’s diversified style.

A producer dedicated to un-compromised quality, ‘I Am Lynx’ shatters stereotypes, showcasing the eccentric and eclectic style Lynx has cultivated from his many years of experience. Hospital Records proudly presents an album that sets Lynx aside from the rest; an unrivalled competitor in the race of the music creators.

To celebrate our 18 years in the game, we bring you an outstanding selection of brand new and exclusive tracks. Curated over the last six months specifically for this project this outstanding triple album is groaning at the seams with label heavy hitters such as High Contrast, Danny Byrd, Netsky and London Elektricity, as well as showcasing new music from some of the most exciting new talents around, including Fred V & Grafix, Metrik, S.P.Y, and Medschool’s man of the moment Etherwood. With the drum & bass scene bigger and badder than ever before in 2014, could we ever have imagined way back in 1996 when Hospital was launched that we would have gone from a tiny eccentric imprint to the all conquering label we are today? We’ve called on our family and friends to chip in with remixes and collaborative input from the likes of Shogun Audio’s Friction, Total Science and DJ Marky and with eyes on the future we’ve sought the sound of things to come in the shape of Hugh Hardie, Ed:It, Krakota and Rollz. With label retrospectives ten a penny, this album looks squarely forward and defines 2014s d+b agenda with 29 outstanding moments. So, who’s up for another 18 years?

Simultaneously intellectual and effortless, it’s a breath of fresh air that builds on the success of Fred V & Grafix previous successes ‘Major Happy’, ‘Games People Play’ and the current ‘Catch My Breath’,

Receiving its debut airplay on Annie Mac’s Friday night Radio One show, Fred V & Grafix count Subfocus, Netsky, Mistajam and B Traits as fans.

Young gun Emperor applies his twisted neurofunk genius to the remix for this package, choosing to frontload the song and harmonic structure before descending with a Spartan bassline workout and rugged tick-tock drums which will have every 21st century junglist grinning from ear to ear.

Fellow South-Western young guns Panda drop the tempo and flip the genre with their own sublime take on the original to round off the package.
