Released 12th February 2018

The forthcoming EP on CIA, Field’s ‘Intention Dub’, highlights the eclectic mix of artists who have joined the roster since its first release. Featuring a variety of collaborative producers, the six-track EP exemplifies the talented intricacies of Fields and his masterful song compositions. The names that run alongside Fields stand out within their own right, with underground stalwarts Mako, and McLeod, roller top dog Break, frequent partner Villem (who go under their pseudonym Mute) and Forren, who also makes an appearance. As a collective, they represent many of the artists who helped CIA build their impressive back catalogue.

Having closely followed his music since day dot, we are very pleased to welcome Xtrah to Dispatch for a debut solo release, the highly anticipated ‘Disturbance EP’. Coveted for his own distinctive twist on the techier side of drum & bass, Xtrah’s technical skill is unrivalled, but his impeccable control sets him out from the crowd; taunting and playfully manipulating sounds, even amongst the darkest, most sinister of vibes.

Building up a serious back catalogue in recent years, he has blessed Dispatch with some memorable, yet cameo roles to date, most recently with ‘Direct Approach’ alongside DLR for our first ever Dispatch Dubplate 12. The ‘Disturbance EP’ is his biggest release with us so far and is well worth the wait, including six original tracks, that have blown us away right from the off; all of which have been a staple of Ant TC1 sets in recent months.

For Dispatch’s first main label release of the year, Mako takes us into the next century, following the Dispatch 100 album with an aptly name release – ‘The 101 EP’. Leading on from his ‘Back To The Source EP’ in 2014, Mako has been a huge favourite of ours, effortlessly engulfing everything we love about the past and the present, with a distinctive ability to create raw, incredibly authentic music, with a vibe that hits the emotions just as sweetly as the bottom end pressure hits your chest.

At the helm, the EP is led by a mighty track, in ‘The Mercenary’ alongside Andy Skopes, having caused some serious damage since its inception, littered by tough breaks and searing lows. An endemic character of Mako’s music and the rugged beats continue right through the release, including the serene amen journey ‘Looking Back’ and the super tight drum programming of ‘A Break From Suspension’.

Total Science’s infamous CIA Records label turns 20 this year! To celebrate this pretty bloody momentous occasion, the guys have decided to release an album featuring tracks from some of their favourite artists and friends of the label – and as everybody loves them because they’re so sick, the album is sick too!

The LP will come on double vinyl containing 8 tracks, with a further 7 tracks digitally making up a nice big package. On the vinyl there’s a dancefloor-hurting contribution from Break with his beast of a roller ‘Unification’, Calibre returns once again with some dubwise styles in the form of ‘The Trot’, and S.P.Y also makes a welcome return to the label with his upfront system-testing piece ‘Be Strong’. If this wasn’t enough to make for a killer LP, Total Science team up with Digital & Spirit, and FD, Mako, Chroma and Villem, McLeod & Hydro all give their own typically flavourful input to the project.

In addition to this, there are also several digital tracks as part of their big package. Zero T & MC Conrad provide a great dancefloor friendly VIP of their track ‘Morning Sex’ and Spirit brings the techno vibes with his track ‘Riser’. And with the project wrapped up with further excellent contributions from Ed:It and Murdock, alongside label regulars Nymfo, Quadrant & Iris and The Invaderz, it seems just the right way to say Happy 20th Birthday to Total Science’s CIA Records!

Mako, Villem & Mcleod – Inner Revolution

Buy vinyl: http://bit.ly/1wZYSue

UM017 switches vibes again for a smooth piano lick which hits equally gracefully in the dance as well as in the headphones. Signature beats flow with musical basslines and delicate nuances. The flip brings an 80’s anthem into drum and bass world. Floating cloud percussion combines with a strong vocal hook which sounds like something out of an epic snowboarding movie.

Utopia do it again, a 12” of diversity coupled with a cohesive production ethic.

Break, Mako, Fields & Villem – Shadowlines

Out 29th October.

Utopia’s 16th vinyl single brings label stalwart Break into the fold once again for a hard hitting roller that has been getting reactions all over the globe since it got leaked into the top DJ’s hands. The A side teams up the Symmetry boss with Utopia label honcho and recent Metalheadz addition Mako, with his long term partners Fields and Villem. The production and weight are unreal whilst retaining a woody rather than plastic aesthetic

Mako – What A Little Moonlight Can Do (Break Remix)

Buy: http://bit.ly/1ANvAlS

Vibing off of light, layered keys and female R&B coos, Break gives us a rolling five minutes of pure A-side. Not to be lost in the air, a thickly chopped break plays overtop sub bass as filter resonances enter at the offsides, carefully touching on the interplay of voice and gated percussion. This is a rattling piece that’s as much deep house as it is liquid step.

Break’s take on Mako’s recent Billie Holiday homage bounces its bass and hi-freq drums between two densely layered snare notes. Splices of tape-delayed voice dither off into an empty jazz-space, leaving a heavy analog-sounding synth, motes of vinyl dust and a closing section that fades just before returning to the tonic—ready for the final phase of your mix.

DLR – Sense of Wanting

Buy: http://bit.ly/1slmlpo

DLR makes his mark on Metalheadz with his debut five track EP. The producer invites Mako and Rider Shafique along for the journey and in-turn the EP sounds like one of his most accomplished and varied releases to date.

This track may well be the most straight up dancefloor track on the EP. A DJ’s dream in that it just rolls and rolls and will suit most tastes as its techy enough to hold its own in that arena aswell as having enough interesting elements to keep it fresh throughout its course.

Buy: http://bit.ly/methxx06

Mako has his first full outing for the Headz camp via METH XX. Meth XX is the fertile breeding ground for new Metalheadz artists that gives them a chance for to express themselves with the music they are making right now.Enter Mako.

‘Gully’ is exactly that, gully. It’s an exercise in how to get a dancefloor moving, contorted bass, big stepping drums. Great for DJ’s and dancers – kept interesting and even changing its step at the very end of the track showing an attention to detail sadly missing in this day and age.

DLR – Bridge The Gap

Buy link coming soon…

Utopia’s long anticipated 15th single brings forth DLR onto the label roster. The A side ‘Old Soul’ also combines the brotherhood of Mako and Fields and the results are delicious.  A heavy homemade break joins together an intricate bass line with the touches of love that the label pushes.  The second drop adds more vocal melodies and makes the tune more than just one for the dancefloor.

The B side is a stepped-out-rolled-out vibe with DLR taking the solo lead on this one.  Naughty bass and a tight break keep the energy moving nicely. Supported by Goldie, Doc Scott, Break, LTJ Bukem, Spectrasoul, Friction, Total Science and many esteemed others.

Silent Witness – Arc Light

BUY: http://bit.ly/1bn353F

Having graced us with so much great music in the past, it might be surprising to find that this is Silent Witness’ first ever solo artist EP on Dispatch Recordings. We proudly present “The Arc Light EP”, featuring four superbly-crafted tracks that confidently cover a broad spectrum of musical bases, styles and sounds at 170bpm and upward.

Instantly recognized by its distinctive sirens the title track “Arc Light” is defined by surging low ends that swarm through with undulating fervor. Marked by mystery but never devoid of musicality, the EP keeps you guessing at every turn and the angelic chants in “Lost” are a testament to this, shrouded in techy gurgles and spiraling bass refractions.

DJ support so far from: DLR, Break, Klute, DJ Marky, Ant TC1, Cern, Prolix, Optiv & BTK, Survival, Doc Scott, Ulterior Motive, Rene La Vice, Nymfo, EBK, John B, Ray Keith, Mako, Hydro, Gerra & Stone.

Mako – A Break From Ritual

BUY: http://bit.ly/1jkZfv6

Mako’s “A Break From Ritual” is a heavy-footed drum rush that has no confusion about its namesake. Apaches, Amens and Think breaks clatter seamlessly overtop a crushing two-step kick/snare darkly worshipping Photek’s classic MODUS OPERANDI track “Smoke Rings.” Heavier and unshy about his equally informed nods to noughties neurofunk, Mako does not mean to disappoint a single dance-floor with this one.
