Protesters clash with police as a demonstration turns violent in Thessaloniki, against an agreement reached by Greece and Macedonia to resolve a dispute over the former Yugoslav republic’s name.
“We have made history today” says the Republic of North Macedonia’s Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov in an exclusive interview with AFP of the signing of the accord between Greece and the newly-named Republic of North Macedonia, formerly Macedonia. EU diplomatic chief Federica Mogherini hailed the deal, while Greek opposition supporters clashed with riot police near the signature ceremony.
