After his meeting with European negotiator Michel Barnier on a visit to Berlin, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas describes the possibility of a no-deal Brexit between the UK and the EU as “totally irresponsible”, given the context of the health and economic crises caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that Britain “can prosper mightily” without a post-Brexit trade deal, after agreeing to extend stalled talks with Brussels during a video-call with EU chief Ursula von der Leyen.
