Logam – ‘Back & Forth’ ft. Armanni Reign

Logam
‘Back & Forth’ ft. Armanni Reign
Released 19th October

Having risen to prominence as one third of the Legion & Logam trio, Logam is no stranger to making waves in the musical world. His first non-solo release on Program – vocal roller ‘House Of Cards’ – caught the rightful attention of some of dance music’s most influential tastemakers. In addition to this accompanied success, it has also been Logam’s independent talents which have helped him go from strength to strength over the last twelve years. His immense skill has seen him work in collaboration with old-school veteran Mayhem and set up his own label (Santoku Records). But now he’s set to release a record which is the latest addition to Program’s highly sought-after catalogue.

‘Back & Forth’ features the fierce, gutsy vocals of Armanni Reign, his signature tones nestled in amongst the tune’s ever-developing, carefully constructed multiplex of audio. Concurrent with the rising tension and complexity of the soundscape, they intensify: Reign’s voice stretches to its furthest heights where it underpins evocative builds towards some mighty crescendos. Despite its simple lyrical base, the tune’s speedy, kicking percussion conjures up an otherworldly level of liveliness: its core is punctuated by sawing, deep-bass dips and powerful, punching synth notes.

From more exotic beginnings which feature subtle Djembe drumbeats, the sudden interjection of a crisp, tumbling bassline acts as a sign of what’s to come. Logam throws us expertly into the deepest, darkest corners of the drum and bass realms, from which there’s no escape bar an evocative, still-frantic central break. ‘Back & Forth’ is just one example of the artist’s ability to deliver abounding versatility with every new addition to his musical collection. So once again, it’s to time get with the Program and prepare yourself for massive energy whilst into the limitless world of Logam.

Legion & Logam, a trio who’ve cemented themselves as an international crossover act whilst pedestalling US drum & bass within the Ram roster. After the breakaway success of their first single on the Program imprint, ‘House of Cards’, as well as a host of fresh cuts of the Ram Records compilation series, they’re returning with a single to cement themselves yet again within the genre’s fabric. Having become a staple of festival stages globally, it’s no surprise they’ve piqued such interest across the scene.

‘To Be Alone’ features Micah Freeman on vocals, making another appearance since ‘Holding On’ and adding his signature twist between carefully constructed layers of noise. Freeman’s voice stretches to its furthest heights, dropping down musical crescendos and over kicking drum patterns. Snapping percussion washes over each train of sound with distorted guitar underpinning each segment. Piano notes filter through the mix, creating an emotional composition that pedestals the style Legion & Logam reign over.

Once again, it’s time to get with the Program… One that celebrates diversity whilst distributing acts like Legion & Logam onto an unsuspecting audience since its inception.

Mayhem & Logam – Infinity (Nickbee Remix) [Santoku Records]

Santoku Records are proud to present their latest various artists release. SAN014 contains two massive remixes of tracks by label favourites Mayhem & Logam.

NickBee is something of a phenomenon. His youth, his proficiency in such a range of styles, and his technical ability continue to shock and amaze. Labels, such as Invisible, Dispatch, Horizons, Bad Taste and more queue up to secure his talents, but this time around he contributes a remix of Mayhem & Logam’s Infinity.

Right from the top, this one’s a stone-cold classic. Moving, melodic beats are lifted and drawn out by Nick’s synth work, as he floats through the intro and into the drop. After this, the flourishes are held down, concentrating as he does on the beats and the bass instead. Frenetic, fast-paced drum lines flow up and down the mix, with the track pinned to a wide-ranging and diverse set of bass notes. Building musical mountains is NickBee’s speciality, and he does it once again on Infinity, swooping and gliding all around his remix.

NickBee is a fellow member of the Enter The Grid Agency :

Mean Teeth – Transfixed [Santoku Records]

Out now ► https://pro.beatport.com/release/all-i-do-gridlok-remix/1724939

Logam’s Atlanta-based Santoku Records return for their thirteenth release which includes a remix and an original track. On SAN013, you’ll find the Gridlok remix of Mayhem & Logam’s “All I Do”, and “Transfixed” by newcomers Mean Teeth.

The duo Mean Teeth hail from Estonia, who are building a name with their dark, industrial vibes and innate sense of rhythm. Here, on Transfixed, they bring their entire a-game. Punchy drums correspond with grimey bass pressure, as they slowly build the tune up to its heights. Things then move into some mean and moody areas, populated with a weird, warped vocal sample and low end to match. Headnodding, compelling and insistent, Transfixed is guaranteed to grab your attention and not let go. Techstep inspired, this one brings through the future in no uncertain terms, and will mark Mean Teeth out as a name to watch out for.

Agressor Bunx – Terror Force

Buy: http://btprt.dj/1LloPu1

By day, Alex & Nick from Bila Tserkva, Ukraine. By night, Agressor Bunx, one of the most sought-after duos in the neuro and tech worlds.

Recently releasing on Program, Bad Taste, and others, the duo also have forthcoming tracks on the RAMsterdam compilation and Blackout. Now though, they are dropping the Gravity EP on Logam’s Santoku imprint. The label, populated by Mayhem, Jade, Trei, Hooves, Wreckage Machinery and more, represents a range of sounds from across drum & bass, dubstep and beyond.

Taking inspiration from the likes of Optiv & BTK, Jade, Black Sun Empire, and State of Mind, Agressor Bunx have already secured support for their music from Noisia. This success is set to continue with the release of the Gravity EP.

Contact the Terror Force for the third track, where a stuttering intro kicks up to an all-out auditory assault, cast down upon your ears from on high. Taking the sum of the tune’s parts and going far, far into the future, the Agressor boys really turn on the motors with this one. Smooth, running beats are contrasted with eerie, creepy backdrops which bring to mind BSE, Noisia and classic Hard Leaders sounds.

The waiting is finally over… We’re about to unleash your soundtrack for the next Music week in Miami and it’s packed full of exclusives. With no less than 28 brand new cuts accompanying you onto one of the world’s hottests beaches, prepare for the smooth riding riddims of Ram Records to envelop the US and beyond.

From label stalwarts Delta Heavy, to new signees Teddy Killerz and championed guests Gerra & Stone, there’s a musical taste to suit every palette. Whether it’s from a renowned roster artist or a relative newcomer, this compilation bursting with heaps of exclusives is the only way to launch you headfirst into the innovation drum & bass is renowned for.

Carefully finessing this album, the Ram imprint is about to drum & bass for a transatlantic journey. It’s a showcase of what the genre can offer… electric vibes which pulses through its veins and cherished memories of a tempo which pulls you into the morning’s early hours.

But with the Miami conference pedestalling every major genre which has made electronic music so popular, there would be a void if Ram didn’t step up. And as one of the most withstanding labels from the last two decades, they’ve delivered with immense style. You’re provided with a host of smooth basslines and hotly tantalising vocals to take you from pool-party to clubs at some of the most renowned districts.

Audio is first to deliver, crashing in at full speed and leaving no survivors with the tear out anthem which is ‘Combust’. Then taking you into a web of technicality and meticulous composition is Calyx & Teebee’s ‘Wipe Out’. There are also a huge selection of Vips to firmly solidify why it’s important to revisit tunes which are still to this day so highly sought after; leading the way is Loadstar’s ‘Under Pressure’ Vip, which set a stunning precedent in 2014.

So, now it’s time take the legacy of Hornchurch to Miami and lay down the same roots which are still prevalent throughout the UK today. And adding that to Miami’s reputation, it’s a match which is set to make history.
