Virginia governor apologizes for 1984 racist photo

(2 Feb 2019) Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam acknowledged Friday that he appears in a photo on his 1984 medical school yearbook page that shows a person in blackface and another wearing a Ku Klux Klan robe. He quickly apologized. (Feb. 1)

Infiltrating the ‘BlacKkKlansman’ story

(31 Jul 2018) Spike Lee’s latest movie “BlacKkKlansman” is based on a book by Ron Stallworth, an African-American detective who infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan. At the film’s New York premiere, stars John David Washington (who plays Stallworth) and Topher Grace (who takes on the role of former KKK leader David Duke) talked about channeling their real-life counterparts onscreen. Trump calls racism ‘evil’, singles out KKK, white supremacists

US President Donald Trump — under pressure to explicitly condemn a weekend rally by white supremacists in Virginia that ended in bloodshed — denounces racism as “evil”, singling out the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis as “repugnant.”

KKK marchers in Virginia town met by counter-protesters

Supporters of the white supremacist Ku Klux Klan marched in Charlottesville, Virginia on Saturday to protest the planned removal of a statue of General Robert E. Lee, who oversaw Confederate forces in the US Civil War.

One week after the removal of the Confederate flag from the South Carolina State House, members of local Ku Klux Klan chapter the Loyal White Knights held a pro-flag rally outside the capitol building.
