Shocking crowds by fusing funk fuelled D+B with a high-octane live jazz outfit; the London Elektricity Big Band has rocked shows across the globe with rousingly slick 22-piece brass band performances with the highlight being Slovakia’s incredible Pohoda festival.

The ‘Live At Pohoda’ LP showcases 12 classic tracks, handpicked for their unique live re-creation. Available on a highly limited orange London Elektricity lightning bolt USB stick, in a custom designed foil-printed box, sold exclusively on the Hospital Shop – an essential collectable for any London Elek fan worth their salt.

Featuring tracks from across the full London Elektricity discography, we see iconic songs such as the loungecore manifest ‘South Eastern Dream’ and the autobiographical jazztastic ‘Syncopated City Revisited’ taken from the iconic 2008 album and available live for the first time ever following their high voltage execution at one of Eastern-Europe’s grandest festivals. Add to this ‘Billion Dollar Gravy’, ‘The Plan That Cannot Fail’, ‘Different Drum’, and many others and this exquisite musical medley re-defines the possibilities of live D+B performance.

“I’ve been gigging with various bands throughout my adult life, been lucky enough to DJ at amazing D+B parties for the last 21 years and this year we toured the London Elektricity Big Band. All the gigs were amazing in their own way but the show at Pohoda Festival in Slovakia takes the biscuit. It was many levels higher than any show i’ve ever been involved with. Let’s hope there’s even better to come!” – London Elektricity

London Elektricity – Pull The Plug (Full Album)

We are celebrating London Elektricity’s debut album “Pull The Plug” which was released exactly 18 years ago. 1999, A time where Chris Goss was still part of the London Elektricity artist collective with Tony Colman before stepping aside to focus on the establishment of Hospital Records and global events brand Hospitality. Drum & Bass artists are still not allowed to laugh on press shots however and Chris Goss probably still won’t pull off that turtle neck sweater.

2. P.B.E. (vs Jon Forté) (Elektricial Storm)
3. Shakedown
4. Rewind
5. Superstructure
6. Do You Believe
7. Pull The Plug
8. Brother Ignoramus
9. Dirty Dozen

“Well here it is. After 18 months of blood, sweat and losing all our friends, we bring you our album. We made the CD and Vinyl as if we were making different albums – we tried hard to make sure the cd sounds good in your home, caravan or houseboat. Here you have the golden moments of Song In The Key Of Knife, PBE, Pull The Plug, Brother Ignoramus and Dirty Dozen. We also bring you four new tunes : we’ve been recording Rewind for over a year, and an early version somehow managed to chart in Japan last year.

This song was inspired by 4 Hero’s mix of “Blackgold Of The Sun”, and it features the amazing vocal talents of Lianne Caroll, a jazz-folk singer from Hastings, South England. The lyrics are about being addicted to the internet (don’t say you haven’t been warned). Lianne also tears it up on Do You Believe, which is our cover version and tribute to the Webster Lewis 23 minute original – seek it out now or you’ll regret it when you get old and go deaf. Superstructure and Shakedown both feature the breakbeat precision of Landslide on the Mac. We’re grooming Landslide for a life of champagne, fast cars and Latin flavoured breakbeat supremacy.” – London Elektricity in 1999.

London Elektricity Big Band – Song In The Key Of Knife (Live At Hospitality In The Park 2016)

In 2016 London Elektricity took on a huge challenge, to step back in front of the crowd not only as a DJ but also as a live musician. With Hospitality moving leaps and bounds over the past decade, growing into a huge 10,000 capacity festival in London’s Finsbury Park, it was the perfect time for Tony Colman to transform his signature jazz infused drum & bass into a spectacular live big brass band styled performance.

It was the highlight of Hospitality In The Park 2016. Electric vibrations ran through everyone in the tent – Tony Colman shredded his bass guitar, jazz legend Liane Carroll and new discovery Emers’ vocals soared with style and finesse, members of the Riot Jazz collective uplifted the drum & bass tempo all led by the never ending energy of our resident Dynamite MC.

The ‘Live In The Park’ LP reminisces back to this unforgettable hour with 10 tracks seamlessly running through London Elektricity classics, new material and a surprising cover.
