The Jordanian flag is hoisted on land leased for 25 years by Jordan to Israel under the 1994 peace agreement that granted access Israeli farmers to the territories of Ghumar in the north and Baqura in the south after Jordan’s King declared “full sovereignty” over them.

Lions, other animals, to be saved from failing Gaza zoo

Forty animals including five lions are to be rescued from squalid conditions in the Gaza Strip, animal welfare group Four Paws says. The animals are to be taken out of a zoo in the Palestinian enclave and relocated to sanctuaries in Jordan.

Israel evacuates 422 White Helmets & families as Syrian army advances

Israel has evacuated over four hundred members of the controversial White Helmets group and their families to neighbouring Jordan, after Canada, Britain and Germany reportedly agreed to accept at least some of them as refugees. That’s after Syrian government forces launched an offensive against militants in the south of the country, where members of the group were located.
