Britain’s new £10 note featuring Jane Austen has entered circulation

Britain’s newest currency has arrived – a new £10 note featuring Jane Austen.

It is similar to the £5 note in that it is made from polymer plastic and is waterproof. The new note lasts 2.5 times longer than the old paper note.

It also has a see-through window of Her Majesty, a hologram feature, and raised dots to help blind people differentiate the note from others.

The old note will still be accepted until Spring 2018.
