Italy reacts after Italian schoolbus hijacking

The day after Italian police rescued 51 schoolchildren who had been taken hostage on their schoolbus, parents want answers as to how the bus driver, who doused the vehicle in petrol and set it alight, was given his job. Driver Ousseynou Sy, a 47-year-old Italian citizen of Senegalese origin, carried out the hijacking apparently in protest at migrant deaths in the Mediterranean.

There’s no need to travel to Russia to experience the adventure of the Trans-Siberian Railway. In Italy’s Abruzzo region, an old 1920s train runs on weekends between Rome and the ski resort of Roccaraso and allows tourists to go back in time.

Rome exhibiton celebrates Da Vinci

In Rome, the exhibition ‘Science before science’ will open March 13 to feature the many works of Italy’s Leonardo Da Vinci, 500 years after his death.
