Silent Witness – Arc Light

BUY: http://bit.ly/1bn353F

Having graced us with so much great music in the past, it might be surprising to find that this is Silent Witness’ first ever solo artist EP on Dispatch Recordings. We proudly present “The Arc Light EP”, featuring four superbly-crafted tracks that confidently cover a broad spectrum of musical bases, styles and sounds at 170bpm and upward.

Instantly recognized by its distinctive sirens the title track “Arc Light” is defined by surging low ends that swarm through with undulating fervor. Marked by mystery but never devoid of musicality, the EP keeps you guessing at every turn and the angelic chants in “Lost” are a testament to this, shrouded in techy gurgles and spiraling bass refractions.

DJ support so far from: DLR, Break, Klute, DJ Marky, Ant TC1, Cern, Prolix, Optiv & BTK, Survival, Doc Scott, Ulterior Motive, Rene La Vice, Nymfo, EBK, John B, Ray Keith, Mako, Hydro, Gerra & Stone.

Dabs – Lurkbox [Blendits Audio]

Since early 2010, Rotterdam based Blendits have been injecting their hometown with
monthly bass driven club nights featuring some of the hottest quality drum &
bass/dubstep artists out there. The autumn of 2013 brings another dimension to their imprint in the form of the Blendits Audio record label. With an aim to release deep but musical sounds on digital and physical format they succeed to come out strong with this debut release.

Hailing from Rome, Dabs has proven to be a future heavyweight in drum & bass already releasing on Dispatch, Horizons and receiving support by the likes of Ed Rush, Optical and Andy C. With ‘Lurkbox’ he delivers a feisty roller. It’s a stunning piece of work with reverberating growls, techno infused stabs that will definitely do the trick. Peak time business right here!

On the flip we find London based Hydro alongside exciting Belgium newcomers M-Zine & Scepticz rolling out some minimal dancefloor funk. One for the deep heads! Clever drum programming, tight percussive elements and an abysmal sub makes this an impelling slice of drum & bass.

Spinline – Contrast

Cited as one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, Budapest is home to some of the most stunning pieces of scenery the world has to offer. So it’s little surprise that its inhabitants have an appreciation of the more aesthetically pleasing aspects of life.

Spinline are three such inhabitants. Between them Mark Gulacsi, Norbert Safar and Andras Tallai have crafted some of the most ear-pleasing atmospheres in drum & bass, a fact which is substantiated by their appearances on Andy C’s Ram Records and DJ Friction’s Shogun Audio imprint.

Last year saw the trio (alongside Hydro) offer up their Demand Records debut with the incredible ‘Junction 13’ / ‘Perimeter’ and now they’re back with an amazing six-track EP for the label.

The vinyl version spans four tracks, including the sharp edges of ‘Contrast’, the minimal magnificence of ‘Tokyo’, the fantastically different ‘Life’ and the lazy low end of ‘Sundays’. One listen will define this as not only a beautifully crafted selection of drum & bass tracks, but a brave A&R decision from Demand, who are fighting the formulaic clichés that prey on the genre.

Included in the digital pack are two more stunning Spinline productions. ‘Geek’ is infused with breezy brilliance while ‘Protocol’ conjours up visions of a mechanoid future, dominated by machines.

Once again Demand Records prove themselves to be one of the most forwardthinking labels in the scene. Never compromising, never wavering and never doing anything just for the sake of it. This is D&B of the highest quality.

A: Contrast
B: Tokyo
C: Life
D: Sundays

+ Geek and Protocol, digital release only.

Label: Demand Records
Catalogue Number: DMND007
