This month, Rwanda has been marking the end of one of the most harrowing chapters in modern history – the 1994 genocide.
Over the course of 100 days in the summer of 1994, roughly 800 thousand people were slaughtered by Hutu extremists as the international community looked away.
In the 25 years since the atrocity, the country has made significant steps forward – seeing strong economic growth and development – but still faces a number of challenges.
