A small group of what appeared to be protesters on Sunday vandalised a toll station at the Cross-Harbour Tunnel in Kowloon in Hong Kong.
Night footage showed protesters in black clothing smashing traffic lights and CCTV equipment at the toll booth. They also destroyed electronic payment devices, allowing cars to pass without stopping.
One toll worker was seen sitting inside a booth that was targeted. It was not immediately clear who they were or what their motive was.
However, they were wearing black, goggles, gas masks and helmets – similar to outfits worn by pro-democracy protesters during recent protests in Hong Kong.
The Cross-Harbour Tunnel connects Kowloon to Hong Kong Island’s Victoria Harbour, and is normally heavily trafficked.
