Theresa May was interrupted during her conference speech by a protestor who handed her a P45 and said: “Boris asked me to give this to you.”
The prime minister’s speech was stopped by comedian Lee Nelson, real name Simon Brodkin, who gave her the piece of paper. She dropped the piece of paper to the floor before the protestor was removed.
Brodkin tweeted “Hi @BorisJohnson, I gave Theresa her P45 just like you asked.” He was arrested after the incident to prevent a breach of the peace, but was later released.
