‘Just a beginning of the very hard week ahead’ – Israeli journalist on Jerusalem Day clashes

Clashes erupted in Jerusalem earlier, as Israelis celebrated the anniversary of the 1967 annexation of the Eastern part of the holy city. The violence comes ahead of what looks set to be a rocky week for the region with the US embassy moving to Jerusalem on Monday, and Israel commemorating 70 years since its founding. Bad District – Empathy

Buy ‘Empathy’ – http://bit.ly/2xOET9p

BAD TASTE RECORDINGS continue with an artful streak of precise releases from emerging artists, following up the introduction of an array of talented fresh names with the exquisitely pointed BLUFF EP from Eastern production crew BAD DISTRICT. Already spotted by dnb heroes Evol Intent with a release on their label and picked up by Noisia who played the biomechanical REPULSOR on their radio show, Bad District have turned ears in high places from the get go.

The BLUFF EP has its roots firmly between the lush and the insanely heavy, with each track carrying a truly distinct flavor which demonstrates Bad District’s dynamic creative energy. With the yearning shimmering sci-fi aesthetic of EMPATHY, travelling through the tech-funk of RUN and abrasiveness of BLUFF to the halfstep tearout hybrid BRAND NEW ID, this release wears its multiple influences as a badge of honour.

An Iraqi refugee answers your questions about life under Trump’s travel ban

Federal judges in Hawaii and Maryland blocked President Trump’s revised travel ban from taking effect last week, but the government has appealed the rulings, and refugees in the U.S. and around the world are anxiously waiting to see what happens next.

Beyond restricting entry to the U.S. for people from six Muslim-majority countries, Trump’s executive order seeks to halt the resettlement of all refugees — regardless of where they’re from — and cap the total number of refugees the U.S. will admit this year at 50,000, less than half as many as the Obama administration had previously agreed to accept.

Trump’s rhetoric has created confusion about refugees. The president claims the U.S. needs to overhaul its security screening procedures for refugees in order to prevent terrorist attacks, but most refugees already undergo 18-24 months of intense vetting.

To help understand what it means to be a refugee and learn more about how they end up in the U.S., VICE News is hosting a live Q&A with Taif Jany, an Iraqi refugee who fled the sectarian violence that followed the U.S. invasion of his homeland in 2003.

Jany, now the policy coordinator for the Young Elected Officials Network, will share his story and answer your questions starting at 2 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday.

On September 6, a day-long ceasefire in eastern Ukraine was broken when pro-Russia forces shelled Ukrainian tanks driving into Mariupol. VICE News correspondent Simon Ostrovsky was in the city before, during, and after the ceasefire, and traveled to Mariupol’s Eastern checkpoint as it endured the attacks.

London Elektricity – The Plan That Cannot Fail (Logistics Remix)

Buy Here: https://www.hospitalrecords.com/shop/release/london-elektricity/nhs192-yikes-remixes

Hot on the heels of his 2011 album Yikes! LP, London Elektricity came back with a superb set of remixes from the creme de la creme of contemporary, worldwide D+B talent.

Kicking off the tracklisting S.P.Y takes to the helm with his sublime re-work of “Elektricity Will Keep Me Warm”. A producer who has really risen to the fore in the last year, Brazilian born S.P.Y smooths out the piano-driven original into a late night party gem. Hospital homeboy Logistics comes up with a foolproof “Plan That Cannot Fail” – working with the innate musicality of the piece, increasing the dancefloor sensibility with a trouser flapping bassline. Annie Mac favourite Lung is up next with his blissfully euphoric take on title track “Yikes!” before Danny Byrd hammers home with the Hospitality anthem “Meteorites”.

Things get deeper and more twisted further into the tracklisting with hotly tipped antipodean talent Royalston smashing “Round The World In a Day” into a sawtooth stepper, Bratislava’s B Complex chops up the breaks on “Invisible Worlds” before the Eastern block triple of Russia’s Enei and Unquote alongside Estonia’s Mutated Forms show what they can do. Rounding off this international super-nova of breakbeat science we head back to the UK for some future Jungle vibes as Stray adds dubbed out subs to “Had a Little Fight” for a climactic finish.

Pro-Russian Protesters Occupy State Security Service Building: Russian Roulette (Dispatch 24)

Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News

Pro-Russian protestors in Luhansk, the most Eastern city in Ukraine, took over the headquarters of the state security services on April 9. Armed with guns they found in the building, the demonstrators were determined not to leave. VICE News correspondent Simon Ostrovsky visited the occupied building, which despite the occupation, was surprisingly calm.

But not everyone in Luhansk wants to join Russia — and some who express that sentiment are suffering dire consequences. We spoke to one resident who said he was severely beaten for siding with Ukraine, and another who is determined to leave the area if Luhansk becomes Russian. Amid calls for parts of Ukraine to join Russia, the tension and unrest across the country is spreading — and it is becoming increasingly difficult to predict what will happen next.

Inside Libya’s Militias

Subscribe to VICE News here: http://bit.ly/Subscribe-to-VICE-News

Libya has been plagued with violence since the 2011 revolution and death of Muammar Qaddafi. Earlier this month, Prime Minister Ali Zeidan was ousted over his inability to control the various militias operating across the country. These militias have opened fire on protesters in Tripoli, kidnapped the former prime minister, and have taken control of oil fields in the country’s Eastern region. With little sign of the chaos dying down, VICE News traveled across Libya to take a look at these groups as they hold their country hostage.
