US, S. Korea fighter jet drills kick off amid N. Korea ‘ultra-precision strike’ threats

South Korea and the US on Tuesday began military exercises as part of their annual joint military drills. The exercise took place aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson at an unidentified location in international waters. USS Carl Vinson, a 93,400-ton nuclear carrier, carries dozens of F18 bombers, tankers, antisubmarine planes, SH-3H antisubmarine helicopters, and an E-2 airborne early warning and control system. Meanwhile North Korea has warned that it will launch ‘merciless’ strikes if the US strike group infringes on Pyongyang’s ‘sovereignty and dignity.’ READ MORE:
