Few acts showcase drum & bass’s exciting creative scope with the same skillish vibrancy as June Miller.
Since signing to Ram Records a year ago, the Dutch/Anglo duo have locked themselves away in their Utrecht HQ working on a series of mindblowing creations. Deep in sonic solitude, they’ve pushed themselves to whole new levels… As proved by the stunning ‘Empathy’ and ‘Operation Ivy’. Both pivotal tracks on Andy C’s explosively extensive ‘Nightlife 6’ opus, these cuts represent June Miller’s chiselled production skills like never before.
We kick off with ‘Empathy’. Igniting with a surging sense of soul, the unity of timeless synths and spellbinding vocals set a smouldering scene that’s suddenly shattered into gnarled fragments when the drop lands. An overwhelming bass riff scuffs across the blistering breakbeats to create a thunderous groove. Instant riot material, this has been tried and tested by Andy C since the summer, each airing causing unparalleled commotion in its wake.
‘Operation Ivy’ complements the carnage perfectly. A jittering, snake-like roller with deep funk coded into every element, everything about this pristine precision piece is designed to get the floor wriggling. From the crisp digi slap bass to the strident, spacious drum dynamics and textured rhythmic stabs, this is an impeccable example of how measured and meticulous drum & bass production standards are when they’re in the right hands.
Two outstanding cuts from one of the scene’s most forward-thinking, accomplished acts, two representations of how far-reaching and creative drum & bass can be: June Miller have an incredible year ahead of them. And it starts right here.
DJ Support:
Chase & Status, Sub Focus, Doctor P, Dillinja, DJ Hype, Zeds Dead, Hazard, Crissy Criss, Rene LaVice, Loadstar, Mind Vortex, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, Spectrasoul, Dub Phizix, Taxman, Cutline.
“Good Tunes” – Sub Focus
“Love the soul vibes” – Dillinja
“June Miller never fail to amaze” – Cutline
“Operation Ivy is the one for me, big up guys” – S.P.Y

The Dreamers Recordings is a label based in Turin, Italy that is rapidly gaining the attention some big names in the drum and bass scene, from Noisia to Rockwell, Foreign Concept, Friction, Icicle, Dub Phizix, Alix Perez & Ivy Lab. The aim of the label is to support talented producers with a vision on the true sound of drum and bass and its related genres. The Dreamers has been nominated as best newcomer label at the Drum&Bass Arena Awards 2016.
The 9th release launches the second year of activity of The Dreamers with two tracks by Fractale: an interesting trio of producers that already gained attention by some big names of the scene and published their tracks on RAM and Vandal Records. Once again, the mission of The Dreamers is to present new producers with a new and interesting sound. “Listen” is a halfstep, hip hop influenced track, leaded by a bouncy, gritty bass, while “Axis” introduces some beautifully crafted breaks and beats, combined with a fresh touch that is the signature sound of Fractale.

The 8th release from The Dreamers celebrates one year of activity of the label with a sublime EP from HLZ, former Need for Mirrors member and experienced producer, with releases on many important drum and bass labels. The EP starts with the ͞From the past͟ title track, a breath taking liquid roller that sets the mood for the entire work and features dreamy vocals from ‘Awakem’. Track B. ͞Dream source͟ brings you to an oneiric dimension rolling over a solid beat while the track C. ͞Nightcrawler͟ is a lush combination of glitchy beats, deep bass and classic drum and bass atmospheres. Track D. ͞Sparkles͟ closes the EP with a fast footwork vibe.
The last Metalheadz release of 2016 comes courtesy of Dub Phizix. The last time he graced the label was in 2014 with Skeptical on the Platinum Breakz 4 compilation with the sublime ‘Deeper Love’.
The much-requested tracks, Spot Light and Rotate, fit the Headz vibe perfectly whilst retaining what you would expect of a Dub Phizix release and it’s a pleasure to be releasing them on the label, capping off a great year for all involved!

The aim of the label is to support talented producers with a vision on the true sound of drum and bass and its related genres. The fifth release sees the return of Kiril: four tracks with four different rhythms and tempos, but with a unique soul, showing the passion of this talented producer for the old school sound and the innovative footwork and half-tempo influenced rythms.
Skeptical will be opening the Exit Records 2015 release schedule on 19th January with a 4 track 12″ EP. Believe it or not, this is Skeptical’s debut solo release on Exit, with previous contributions consisting of his monster collaboration with Dub Phizix and Strategy, the mighty Marka, as well as individual tracks on the Mosaic series 1 and 2.
The EP features the percussive roller and title track ‘Imperial’, which has been taking dance floors deep into the jungle over the last few months in typical Skeptical fashion. As usual with his tracks this is not laptop music. Sub bass is essential to appreciate the full production qualities and the whole EP demonstrates his power to achieve the utmost with the very minimum.
