SyRan – ‘Paradigm’

SyRan
Paradigm EP
RAMM362

____

Coming via the RAM demo inbox and with tracks currently getting the Andy C seal of approval – including in his Rampage 2019 set – you may not have heard of SyRan: but after their debut EP you’re definitely about to.

Not much is known about the duo, whose minimal online presence allows their music to do the talking for them. From the warped, stuttering low end of title track to the long drawn out bass and aggressive breaks of ‘Seen Savage’, the EP rounds off with a naughty VIP version of Ransome’s ‘No Laughter’.

‘Paradigm’ is the sound of two producers ready to break out from under the radar with support from the biggest label and DJ the scene has to offer. SyRan are ones to watch.

Original Sin – ‘Animal’

Original Sin – ‘Animal’
___

Original Sin’s ‘Inertia’ started in 2019 in a fairly rowdy manner. Picking up where he left off, the UK based producer and DJ returns to Ram Records with his follow up single ‘Animal’ on July 19th.

The cinematic intro draws you in; again giving his track a movie score atmosphere before throttling you with a militant drum heavy groove and gnarled bassline. The title ‘Animal’ is somewhat appropriate here, as this is an undisputed beast of a tune.

RAMLive – Skantia

Last month’s liquid rollout from Mel C was the perfect Summer mode switch up, so we move into July’s RAMLive with the latest member of the RAM Records family: Skantia

The 22-year-old, who graduated from sister label ProgRAM after just one release, has already made his mark on 2019 with debut single Cluster and his scene stealing Bassline Secret remix, which has been battered by some of drum & bass’s biggest and best, including Andy C and Chase & Status. Before becoming a producer Skantia cut his teeth as DJ, becoming resident at Dilate in his hometown of Newcastle. Using production to boost his sets, for his RAMLive you can expect to hear a few of his own tracks in the mix and with a penchant for the more stripped back, roller sound of drum & bass it’ll get deep, dark and murky with some serious vibes thrown in for good measure. One of the most exciting emerging talents in the scene, Skantia is sure to deliver some serious sounds for your Monday night.

Submissions are still being considered so please email your mixes to info@ramrecords.com and remember to make them downloadable and do not expire – we don’t wanna miss out on the next future participant!

Kings Of The Rollers – Gringo (feat. Navigator)

Buy or Stream ‘Kings Of The Rollers LP’ here: https://KingsOfTheRollers.lnk.to/KOTR-LPyc

Leaders of the new generation and purveyors of dancefloor chaos Serum, Voltage and Bladerunner return to the frontline of drum & bass with their debut, self-titled album ‘Kings Of The Rollers’. Whilst each has their own high-grade production style, these three royals have managed to create a sum greater than their parts, as they steamroll through all the rules to deliver an absolute bruiser of an LP.

Across seventeen tracks expect up-front rollers, techy 2-step beats and pure knockout D+B bangers, complemented with slick jazzy numbers and a wide variety of vocal-lead tracks. It’s safe to say they’ve lived up to the hype with their most dynamic and diverse release to date.

Amongst the carnage highlights include ‘You Got Me’. A towering tear-out beast ladened with thrashing amens and a thundering bassline that’s ready to push every speaker to it’s limits. Low frequency growler ‘Shella’ is peppered with steppy jungle nuances, with Mancunian dance music innovator Chimpo featuring on both production and vocals for an all-round roughneck sheller. ‘Round Here’ is a brazen jungle prowler with Bristolian lyricist Redders at the helm for a future classic anthem.

Whilst being predominantly known for their heavyweight productions and outrageous D+B screamers, the new album also showcases a variety of different flavours. Jungle roller ‘On The Run’ features the smooth spoken word of Queen Rose and ‘Tisno’ brings a warm steppy swing, inspired by their time spent at the very first Hospitality On The Beach.

Hospital’s three kings have set the scene on fire with their electrifying DJ sets and headline festival performances. Their new ‘Royal Rumble‘ tour takes them all over the UK in 2019 with shows in London, Bristol, Brighton, Manchester and beyond.
