Hydro & War – Shifting Sands (ft. Villem, Fields, M-Zine & Scepticz)

Buy ‘Shifting Sands’ – http://bit.ly/2DYv7sI

Hydro returns to Commercial Suicide for his 3rd outing, his debut as band leader in collaboration with rising star War. Ultra deep and spacious yet tough enough for the harder dance floors, these two tracks provide the perfect balance of what we consider a perfect Commercial Suicide release. Shifting Sands sees the guys collab with a whole heap of Bristol talent, Fields, M-Zine, Scepticz and honorary Bristolian, Villem. Look out for Hydro’s debut album, forthcoming on Utopia.

S.P.Y – Hardcore Harry (Official Video)

WARNING: This video contains scenes of gameplay violence

Buy/Stream here: http://S.P.Y.lnk.to/AloneInTheDark3yb

S.P.Y has been prolific of late returning to the vanguard of the drum & bass circuit with his ‘Alone In The Dark’ trilogy. He’s a man-turned-machine, firing out bass weapons from his Bristolian treasurecave of synths throughout 2017 all leading up to the final chapter, EP:3.

Opening track ‘Transmission’ is ready to cause disorder. Turning vocal hums into premium merkage with a deadly cocktail of percussion and electrostatic bassline that prove to be all the ingredients required for the ultimate floorfiller.

‘Dominator Mode’ is a primal tech-stepper, bringing classically rugged drum & bass stylings well and truly into the contemporary realm. Rustic and tribal with a distorted vocal sample sitting top, manufactures a truly dystopian audio atmosphere.

We all dare to dream but S.P.Y appears to bring these feint fantasies into reality. Reaching for his alter-ego classic liquid movements, the pertinently named ‘Dreaming’ pictures a cosmic landscape with astral synths, a majestic key-lead hook, distant vocals and wistful melodies.

Now it wouldn’t be a S.P.Y release without that signature grit. Fear not, this is delivered in ‘Hardcore Harry’. Latin chic breaks are met by jagged sounds and the warmest of sub licks – this anthem is a wall-to-wall banger. Equally, there’s the full flux of ‘Lockdown’ with sci-fi bleeps and wired rhythms that follow an up front lyrical injection before the climactic drop.

They say three’s a crowd but they couldn’t be more wrong with S.P.Y seeing his ‘Alone In The Dark’ trilogy off this October and ending on a high.

GLXY – Butterfly Effect (ft. Hugh Hardie & Visionobi)

Our next London event – 27th September: http://bit.ly/SNB-RA // attend on Facebook: http://bit.ly/SNB-FB

‘Butterfly Effect’ is released 11th August 2017

They’re back! Liquid powerhouse GLXY aka Jonathan Campbell and Tom Alston, have been making some serious waves in the DnB scene since their debut release with us in 2015. With impressive work on labels like Spearhead & Limitless as well as having featured on Hospital’s We Are 21 compilation at the start of the year, the duo are returning to Soulvent as if they never left – if a little older and wiser. The Butterfly Effect EP is a classic offering from the pair, showcasing their languid style of production in 3 original tracks, one of which sees an overdue collaboration with Hospital’s own Hugh Hardie & veteran wordsmith Visionobi. Not to forget a remix of last year’s Lonely featuring Belle Humble completes the duo’s record.

Butterfly Effect features friends & contemporaries in the form of mic controller Visionobi and Bristolian golden-boy Hugh Hardie – hot off the release of his debut album. Opening with tenuous, shimmering tones and hypnotising lyrics, the drop culminates in the trademark GLXY sound.

SubMarine – Void

Buy: https://www.bit.ly/selects-2-demandstore

Demand’s brand new baby “Selects” goes into round #2! First of NotioN’s dark stepper “Aberrations” followed by Berlin’s new kid SubMarine with “Void”. Label regular Gamma collaborates with Bristolian talent Transparent on “We Do” and the EP finishes with a promising Ukraine newcomer Owneath in “Big Data Rising”. As with Selects #1 we’ve kept the deep and dark vibe that’s been a bit of a trademark for Selects.

Nu:Logic – Big Foot – Official Video

Hospital Shop – https://www.hospitalrecords.com/shop/release/nulogic/nhs179-new-technique
iTunes – https://itunes.apple.com/nl/album/new-technique-ep/id398388808?uo=4&at=11l9mP

Following recent output which graced this summer’s festivals and the BBC Radio One playlist alike, Hospital switches things up with selection of deeper cuts which will penetrate the record boxes of the connoisseurs. Nu:Tone and Logistics, individually two of Hospital’s most talented producers, unite to bring you something extra special. ‘New Technique’ is bass filled and ready for the floor. With DJ support coming from the likes of High Contrast, Danny Byrd, London Elektricity as well as Fabio, AI and many more.

“Bigfoot” comes at you like an angry sasquatch. Straight up full ahead stomp with a clean Bristolian guitar riff paving the way for a bassline which goes all the way up, and then comes all the way back down again — a work out for your subs is guaranteed on this beefy club banger.
