Karadzic faces final war crimes verdict in The Hague

The Appeals Chamber of the International Residual Mechanism Tribunals is expected to issue a ruling on former Bosnian Serb Leader Radovan Karadzic’s appeal in The Hague on Wednesday, March 20.

In March 2016, a UN tribunal for the former Yugoslavia found Karadzic guilty of 10 out of 11 counts of genocide, war crimes and other atrocities committed during the Bosnian War. Some of the charges were linked to involvement in the Srebrenica massacre of July 1995.

Mladic trial is drawn out, aimed to demonize him & Serbs – analyst

The former Bosnian Serb military leader, Ratco Mladic, has been sentenced to life in prison by the UN tribunal in the Hague.
The 74-year-old was found guilty of genocide and crimes against humanity during the Bosnian War in the 1990s. Up to 8,000 Bosnian Muslims were slaughtered by forces under the general’s control.

RAW: Former general Mladic removed from courtroom after outburst against judges

Former Bosnian Serb general Ratko Mladic was removed from the courtroom during a reading of the final verdict at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia after an outburst against the judges of the tribunal.
The judges refused to adjourn the court on the demand of defence attorney Dragan Ivetic, who informed them of Mladic’s high blood pressure during the break.
The court sentenced the Serb to life in prison.

Bosnia’s ‘eternal refugees’ await Mladic verdict

The Jezevac camp on the outskirts Tuzla in Bosnia has been home to some ‘eternal refugees’ for nearly 25 years. The majority of its occupants come from the area around Srebrenica, where in July 1995 forces of Bosnian Serb military chief Ratko Mladic executed some 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys.
