Activists Worry Doug Jones Isn’t Doing Enough To Turn Out The Black Vote (HBO)

Next Tuesday, Alabama Democrats will have their first shot at a statewide win in more than a decade, when former US attorney Doug Jones faces off against accused pedophile Roy Moore in a special election to fill Jeff Sessions’ Senate seat.

But Jones is hardly a shoe-in. He’ll need African Americans — who make up more than 1 in four of the state’s registered voters — to turn out en masse.

VICE News is in Alabama to see how Jones is doing.

Pro-Life Counseling in Colorado

Colorado’s growing pro-life movement has a range of tactics to further its cause, including the operation of what’s known as crisis pregnancy centers. Similar in appearance to abortion clinics, staff in these centers instead counsel women against having an abortion, suggesting alternatives such as adoption.

VICE News visits the Colorado Springs Pregnancy Center to see how these centers work.

2 Trump Girls: Meeting The Donald’s Super Fans, Diamond And Silk

“Diamond and Silk” have taken their popular YouTube channel to the campaign trail, “stumping for Trump” across the country.

Former Democrats, the North Carolina duo switched their allegiances when Trump announced his candidacy, and hope to convince other Democrats to do the same.

VICE News spoke with the sisters at the Trump headquarters in Greenville, South Carolina about why they think Trump should be president.

America’s Election 2016: Pro-Choice in Colorado

In November 2015, Robert Dear opened fire on a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, killing three people and injuring nine. The shooting intensified the ongoing battle over abortion, riling up pro-life and pro-choice communities throughout the state.

Colorado is a politically diverse state, and is one of the critical battlegrounds for women’s reproductive rights. The issue of abortion has always been a divisive issue in state politics, and as a swing state, abortion could play an important role in how people here vote.

VICE News spoke with individuals on both sides of the argument to better understand how the issue of abortion will impact the decision of voters on Super Tuesday, and in the 2016 general election.

Trump’s Faithful Televangelists (Extra Scene from ‘Trump Carolina’)

Watch “Trump Carolina” – http://bit.ly/24t5KUj

Evangelical Christians helped propel Donald Trump to victory in the South Carolina GOP primary last Saturday. Trump came in with 34 percent of the evangelical vote, beating both Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, who often cite their Christian backgrounds on the campaign trail.

Though Trump’s strong evangelical support in South Carolina came as a surprise to many political observers, VICE News found Trump gaining ground with these voters as we traveled across South Carolina’s conservative Upstate region.

Mike Murdock, a prominent Texas televangelist, surprised a crowd of thousands when he announced his support for Trump at a rally in Greenville. At the same rally, South Carolina pastor and televangelist Mark Burns opened the event with a prayer and told us why Trump was the best choice for the evangelical community.

America’s Election 2016: South Carolina’s Black Vote

Hillary Clinton is expected to win the South Carolina primary on Saturday, and she’s going to rely on the state’s large African-American population to get her there. But after decades of building up relationships with the black community particularly in the south, her rival Bernie Sanders and his supporters are starting to question her record of working to help African-Americans.

The question for black voters both in South Carolina and across the country, is whether to again support the family they’ve long known or to take a chance on the one that, in many cases, they don’t know at all.

VICE News traveled across South Carolina, talking to African-American voters about their relationship with the Clintons and to see whether Sanders’ appeal, particularly among young people, is making any headway in these communities.
