Gydra – Secret Society

This one is brand new guys, out just a few days ago on the almighty Bad Taste imprint! Gydra (consisting of Russian’s Menfort, Mizo and Bes) is actually under a lot of fire lately because the title track of the EP that this one is on (“Dystopia”) is actually just a revamped Limewax tune (“Bomb”, from Freak). While I don’t personally have a comment to make about that right now, I can tell you this – f*** a “Dystopia”, this “Secret Society” one is truly spectacular and completely original at that. Not to mention, those percussion hits though…

Weapons Grade is a channel for uploading only the most forward thinking and stomping underground neurofunk. I will try my best to promote only the truly under-appreciated tunes that go lesser heard. Uploads will probably be daily, or possibly even more frequently. Every track featured here has been purchased from the respective label, and is in 320 kbps (MP3) quality before upload. All artwork in every video is from http://www.wallhaven.cc/ unless otherwise stated! I won’t feature any track on this channel that isn’t advanced neurofunk and I will never monetize a video. This channel is purely for your entertainment and discovery, and for my hobby. I hope you guys enjoy thoroughly!

If there is a problem with any of the tracks uploaded, please consult with me by my email (found on my channel under “For business enquiries”). I will take necessary measures to make content owners satisfied with the state of their track, whether it be on the channel or not. If you wish to submit a track for possible upload, please send it to me via the same email.

Gydra – Cyborg [Eatbrain]

Eatbrain follow up Billain’s incredible ‘Colonize’ EP with the fresh new introduction to the wider Neurofunk landscape of Russian production trio GYDRA. With powerful and raw production on the dark side of Tech, this multi-headed force smash their way into Eatbrain in relentless style with their ‘Cyborg’ EP. Formed in 2014, and composed of individual producers Mizo, Menfort and Bes, they’ve been dominating the Russian DnB scene with their legendary Neuropunk events and podcasts. Their militant aesthetic and innate feel for eyeball shaking funk proves once again Eatbrain’s skillful ability in picking the strongest of emerging artists, able to hold their own alongside their roster of seasoned pioneers.

GYDRA – Time Keeper

Released 2nd November 2015.

TIME KEEPER’s deceptively liquid opening soon spills away into bleakness, with verdant and light pads scattering into darkness; as the lushness evaporates in place of a descent into deep dystopia. The drop is both bouncy and heavy, punctuated with bursts of funk breaks and brass stabs – an awesome balance of dirty and playful.

Gydra & Paperclip – Liberator

When you see that a track is produced by four especially talented and experienced producers, you might get a hunch that it’ll be better than what you initially expected upon pressing play. That’s the thought process I went through upon finding out that Gydra is actually a collective of three Russian veterans to the scene – Menfort, Mizo and Bes! You might recognize the name Bes as the DJ of the well known and respected DnB podcast series “Neuropunk”, and you probably also know of Paperclip, the old-school Russian Neurofunk talent and owner of the Paperfunk DnB imprint. It is without a doubt that everybody behind the monitor during the creation of this track knows exactly what they are doing, and you’ll see what I mean the second you hear the punch of the drums kick in and the ruthless and almost frightening atmosphere at the drop. From the free single on TAM “TAMFREE079” (2015).
