Crosses are now mandatory in all public buildings in Bavaria

All public buildings in Bavaria must now show a Christian cross on their premises after a law voted by the CSU, the conservative party ruling the German state. Its defenders say they want to recognise the “Christian roots” of the area but in Munich, not everybody agrees.

Two dead and 14 injured in Bavaria train collision

At least two people are killed and several others hurt after two trains collided late Monday in Germany, the national rail company says. The Deutsche Bahn network operator said that a commuter service hit a freight train between Ingolstadt and Augsburg in Germany’s southern Bavaria region. IMAGES
