Russia tests S-300 surface-to-air missile system in combat drills in Astrakhan

Units from Central Military District tested the #S300 ‘Favorit’ surface-to-air #missile system in combat drills at the Ashuluk testing range, #Russia’s Astrakhan Region, as shown in footage released by the MoD on Sunday.
During the exercises, the S300 launched a number of missiles which destroyed a total of 20 aerial targets, the Russian Defence ministry reports. The ‘Armavir’, ‘Bekas’, ‘Favorit’ and ‘Pischal’ supersonic missiles were all employed.

LIVE: Anti-air missile units compete in accuracy at Keys to the Sky contest

The 5th and final stage of the Keys to the Sky contest of this year’s International Army Games is taking place at the Ashuluk range in Astrakhan Region, Russia. Teams from Russia, China, Kazakhstan, and Belarus will show off their skills against air targets. S-300 anti-aircraft missile system crews are scheduled to wrap up the competition.
