RAW: Russian frigate Admiral Essen departs for Syrian coast

The Admiral Essen, a Russian frigate equipped with guided Kalibr cruise missiles, left Sevastopol for the Syrian coast on Sunday.
The Essen and the Admiral Grigorovich are the only frigates in the Black Sea Fleet to have carried out cruise missile strikes on ISIS positions in Syria.

The Russian Black Sea Fleet’s advanced frigate Admiral Grigorovich has set off for its long-distance voyage in the Mediterranean Sea, the Defense Ministry said on Monday.

Heading to Syria: Russian warship Admiral Grigorovich makes way to Mediterranean

Russian warship left the Crimean port of Sevastopol, on its way to reinforce the Russian military presence in Syria. The warship Admiral Grigorovich, which bears land-attack cruise missiles, will participate in operations from the Mediterranean Sea.

Warships, submarines & vessels: Navy Day Parade in Sevastopol, Russia

People gathered in Sevastopol to see the country’s maritime forces parade for Russia’s Navy Day on Sunday.

Thirty warships, submarines and vessels together with 3,000 sailors took part in the celebrations. Among the warships were seen small-sized missile ships, including the Serpukhov and the Zelenyy dol, the submarine Rostov-on-Don and the frigate Admiral Grigorovich along with a Ka-27 helicopter.
