Still standing beneath Washington, remnants of the Cold War

Stocked with “survival” crackers, barrels of water and medical supplies, a nuclear fallout shelter lies in basement of a DC school, a remnant from the Cold War-era when the United States was bracing for the possibility of a nuclear attack. Fast forward to today, and there’s grounds for similar unease — with the US and North Korea exchanging threats of “fire and fury” and boasts about nuclear buttons followed by an apparent thaw.
