Following the formula set out with the first EP released last year that brought into focus namessuch as Trilo, Subtension, Minor Rain & Klax. The Compound series continues its commitment to discover and showcase the most exciting new d&b producers in the scene today with the arrival of volume two.
Tweaking the freedom of the digital platform slightly from the first instalment to allow us to focus on 2 new artists and explore differing aspects of their productions.
Stepping up to the plate first we have the Italian powerhouse – Disprove. No stranger to Hardware, having already debuted his production skills with the collaborative track – Bad Body on Maztek’s 3.0 album late last year. We were keen to see what else Disprove had been working on and these two cuts were quickly snapped up. First off is Wardrive. A lumbering chunk of offbeat dance floor funk, executed with razor sharp accuracy. Bass line progression underpinned by sparse and bashy drums this one can transgress a multitude of d&b sub genres.
