China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has been conducting intense military drills amid border clashes with India.
The exercises took place in the mountains of Tibet at an altitude of 4,700 meters, where multiple new weapons were tested. Aviation troops were also involved, while thousands of paratroopers were deployed to western China from the country’s center. One of the drills saw troops attack enemy tanks and armored vehicles. Song Zhongping, a Chinese military expert, reported that the main threat to China on its border with India would be seen as coming from Indian tanks and armored vehicles, should tensions there escalate further.
