Aggressive seaweed smothering Pacific reefs

Researchers say a recently discovered species of seaweed is rapidly spreading across an area of a national marine monument in the remote Northwestern Hawaiian Islands and is killing large patches of coral on historically “pristine” reefs. (July 7)
